The GM Defense ISV Is A Badass Chevy Colorado ZR2-Based U.S. Army Squad Carrier! SEMA 2019 Debut

  • ( www.TFLtruck.com ) Yes, the Chevy Colorado may be a comfortable midsize truck, but it's not this practical for hauling troops, nor is it this cool. The GM Defense ISV is a Colorado underneath, but this has been stripped down of all its ordinary truck pieces and beefed up to handle extreme military duty. It's also designed in a way that it can fit inside a military helicopter.

UPDATE: GM did get the ISV Army contract. Noe the Amy will likely begin adding weight with Kevlar armored doors, etc., etc.

I don't see them putting any up armor on this. It is meant to be light for slingload, airmobile and airdroppable operations. It will most likely go to the Ranger Batts, 82nd & 101st Reconnaissance units and other light Infantry units. I can see the rear section being modified for a mounted M2HB .50 cal. It's a support vehicle, meant to get soldiers in and out of a fight quickly. Definitely even SF units.

Excellent job Roman! Your past knowledge was surprising even this Chevrolet expert! This was definitely one of your most comfortable and free flowing interviews I have ever watched you do. The fact that I love the vehicle also helps a little!! Hahaha.
Keep em coming! Looks like SEMA is going to be a marathon of videos and editing and producing and schmoozing and you will all need next week as vacation to recover!! Haha.
    Thanks TFL!

Just like my H3, the front wheels get the rear fender area dirty, in this case the troops. Mudflaps all around could help a lot. It seems that they did no longer have the (better) H3 parts around and had to use the almost similar Colorado parts, the front suspension being the biggest visible and technical difference. If I roll my H3, I will make a look-alike... No armor, but where to draw the line? Small arms? RPG? Landmine? War is deadly anyways... Tactics save lives. There is the WOKE version of this one, the electric one, I hope it will not replace this real one. Electric vehicles are just not suitable for military use. Charging time is death.

Essentially the warthog from halo or a Jeep, not meant to be armored per say but to get enough troops on target to overwhelm the enemy quickly. The Army also has modified Polaris Rzr’s. Great for low signature recon or direct action assaults. Humvee’s were slow and loud. MRAPs and Jltv’s replaced them in a armored sense but still didn’t give them a fast and quiet vehicle capable of carrying a squad.

I understand the operational need; but still say 300k is WAY too much for a stripped down Colorado with good shocks.
But I stand with my predictive assessment.
First one taken out will be a media firestorm and they will be yanked.
