- This tutorial is divided into two topics. First topic explains how to assign the dead loads, live loads & wall loads and the second topic is about how to read and extract the required load values from the building code books.
In this video four codes are explained i.e. ASCE 7-16, UBC 1997, IS: 875 and Building code of Pakistan. Each code is discussed one by one explaining in detail to read, extract and use the required load values into ETABS model.
The explanation is made in easiest possible way as It can be easily followed by those aspirants who are beginners in learning ETABS 18. In this tutorial following contents are covered;
1- Using ASCE 7-16 code for Dead and Live load values
2- Using UBC 1997 code for Dead and Live load values
3- Using IS-875 ( Part 1) and IS-875 ( Part II) code for Dead and Live load values
4- Using Building Code of Pakistan for Dead and Live load values
5- Assigning dead and live loads
6- Assigning loads to the staircase
7- Calculating and assigning wall loads

Thank you for a nice presentation.how can we check various loads applied on slab.is it mandatory to add to existing load..can I apply to loads in a single slab..
Brother kindly makw video on making walls and all thier relevant data on that video
Hi. Excellent tutorial bro. Keep up. Please make videos om steel structures also. Thanks 😇😍
The drop down list on the bottom right to choose One story or all stories is gone. How do I bring it back?
why you are giving staircase live load 60? how did you calculate?
Sir, I expected defining Load Pattern along with Static equivalent or dynamic seismic load and wind load and defining mass source in detail ( including checking the self mass, additional mass or from Load pattern) prior to the applying load. However I request you kindly to incorporate in the next vedio with reference of Seismic load ,calculating Time period, Mass source etc.Thank you sir
My next video is on assigning seismic loads using various building codes. Probably, will upload tomorrow. Stay tuned! :)
can you please suggest some good concrete design books in metric units?
Aurthr H. Nelson. The best practice is find different books on internet, read their contents and randomly choose one topic to read. If it looks interesting to you then follow that book.
question : how to extract required information from design codes? (may nay kafi try ki magar mjhy zada samjh nahi aa raha kuch)
Download the code book first and then type keywords as I have used in my video.
The Video time whis is 15.58 - 16.05
Hi. For second inclined floor when you added dead load whic was 30.27 IB/FT^2 who have not seleceted ADD TO EXISTING LOAD instead of seleceted REPLACE EXISTING LOAD. So, it is about missing part or the values you putted were corrects?Because before you have putted 30.27 IB/FT^2 , there was another value existed. 30.27 IB/FT^2 came from excel table.
same probleum
Sir how can i download ASCE 7 to 16
snd me email i have
