    I hope you enjoy this recipe - it's truly a favourite of mine. Note that when I mention North American vs Australian tablespoons, the North American (and UK) measure is 15 mL and the Australian is 20 mL. I gave incorrect measures when speaking (based on 2 Tbsp)...cooking and talking live is a bit of a juggle, so thanks for understanding! See you on the next livestream, Oct 12th.

    I made your lemon glazed scones this morning. Divine. Just like your chocolate chip cookies, I believe they’ll be a hit at my little micro bakery.     I only discovered you & your channel a week ago. I think you are fabulous. I do wish you’d list ingredients right at the beginning but your demeanor and chatter are perfect.     Love the rustic scones .I make the traditional Australian scone using lemonade (7UP to u guys) and heavy cream and also lavender scones and they are served with jam (jelly) and whipped cream just like the English .The American and Canadian scones are different to ours ❤

    Hi Anna, greetings from Texas. Still hot here, but your scones give me hope for cooler days. Thinking mini chocolate chips would be a good addition to this recipe. Another option would be to add a bit of pumpkin spice to the glaze. Thank you for sharing this recipe. Will be making for my quilting group

    I can’t wait to definitely make these Anna they look amazing 😍 In Australia, the standard tablespoon measure holds 20ml or 4 teaspoons.

    Oh my goodness those are so delicious!! Made them today, and used brown butter in the glaze! I think Egypt’s flour takes less liquid though so they were very wet and I had to keep adding flour. But SO going to be making this! Yes I will even use precious maple syrup I haul from Canada !

    You are indeed correct that the Australian tablespoon is the equivalent of 4 teaspoons rather than the 3 it is most everywhere else in the world. Lady Florence Bjelke-Petersen, the wife of a former Queensland Premier was pretty famous for making pumpkin scones, however hers were much plainer than these and usually served with butter.

    I have one suggestion, if you try to do these recipes Gluten Free, if you can find Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free All Purpose Flour 1:1 ratio it measures the exact same as regular all purpose flour. Hope this suggestion helps.

    When you say maple syrup, like Aunt Jemima (pancake syrup)?

      I wouldn’t use Aunt Jemima or any other pancake syrup unless that is all you can get, but then I don’t use it even on pancakes or French toast. Maple syrup has a different flavour since it is made by boiling down the sap straight from the tree. I might be tempted to add either Maple Extract or Essence to it for the taste (play around with the amount).
