Hey guys 👋Trying out a bit of a different format for this one & a Thursday upload. I also have a video about Paul Gilbert techniques & an original song showcasing different kinds of '80s rack modulation effects coming soon. Let me know what you'd like to see in the future 🙏🙏
I felt your lead guitar tone was already absolutely amazing to start with. The processing only made it a little better. My biggest takeaway from watching this tutorial was that you really need to get your tone right at the source. The post processing is not gonna polish a turd to look great, it's just a little extra help.
Great tips, many that apply to mixing in general. I've also found that a bit of room sound can go a long way to thickening up any part or a bunch of parts. I haven't used a Pultec plugin on guitars before, that seems worth a try. Thanks.

Right. There's two "stages." 1) do you like the sound & 2) how do you make it work in the track
"Using more wet effects than you think is appropriate is a great way..." Words to live by!
Sometimes I like them and just want to hear them! Other times I realized - that's actually what the track "needs" - win/win! haha
