Schubert: Entr'acte no. 3 from "Rosamunde" - encore from the TH-cam Symphony Orchestra concert conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas at Sydney Opera House on March 20, 2011.
What a beautiful music---brings tears ...;my late father who was a very well known conductor in Korea loved this music so much, too. I miss hime so much. Thank you so much for sharing. God bless you all !
Doubtless a very emotional and peaceful piece of music. With all due respect to this shared opinion, but there are some more surely. Look at 'Air on a G-String' from Bach. Listen to Mahler’s ninth and final symphony - it is one of the most heart-breaking pieces of music ever written ...
Liszt called Schubert "the most poetical musician that ever was." Schumann complimented that "Schubert’s pencil was dipped in moonbeams and in the flame of the sun."
Every time I hear or read that some composer is or was the greatest, I must force myself to not laugh. There is no greatest. There are many who are very, very good to the point where it's completely silly to compare. There are different styles of music within we find great composers, some better than others, but no one is the greatest. Naturally, this's is my opinion & I could be wrong.
I meant to say that I agree with the comment by James Y. The greatest can be different for different people, But the one who moves my heart the most is Franz Schubert.
Great piece of music. Partly majestic and serene, partly dark and threatening, and there is something strangely jazz-like about the "oriental" (the piece is set on Cyprus) flute/horn part in between.
Man, some serious ensemble problems going on there… I guess it isn't that possible to make an orchestra out of zero, with people from all over the world, in just some weeks of rehearsal…
You might be either extremely meticulous, or critical... Me as a mere mortal and with all my years of listening to classical music since I was in school taking piano lessons; I can't say I heard anything wrong in this particular piece.
@@MacCentrisSimpleSencilla It's great but one instance i can think of is the woodwinds rushing on the first entrance. ENtirely minor and did not disrupt the piece at all

Magnifique de tendresse et délicatesse. Tempo juste et naturel. Nuances subtiles et enchanteresses Remarquables solistes -des vents en particulier.
I have never believed in perfection... until now...
Franz Schubert is the greatest composer that ever lived. We mortal beings should thank god for sending him to us.

Thanks for uploading! This is SO DIFFICULT, we're playing it tomorrow with our orchestra and it gives me the chills!
Such a soulful commentary, such a wonderful musical moment! Thank you for your video!
Definitely feeling his impromptu op 142 no 3 in B flat major in the beginning and at some places. Very beautiful as always by Schubert!
Actually, Schubert actually used the melody again for that Impromptu
What a piece of music.Beautiful.😍

I agree, me too play oboe :)
Please if you have the coughs, stay at home or see a doctor but don't go in a classical music concert you're ruining it for everybody else...
Claudio Abbado really nailed it ...
The D on the flute was on vacation?
Obvious choice for solace. Wish he'd lived long....
I played this on my instrument
