    Sandra, you may not see this as this is an old video. That was very helpful! You have an excellent delivery and speaking voice, not talking too quickly. Thanks ever so much for sharing your talents.

    Remembering to scratch the bottom of your pans when they are new so the paint sticks to it and doesn't fall out. Good video.

    This video is very helpful and it’s easy to follow along. I also like the idea of having a swatch card❤

    Thank you so much for this tutorial!
    This is really helpful (especially when you mentioned that the paint can take 2-3 days to dry fully).

    I am a newbie to any type of Art but particularly watercolour painting. I must say, when I tried to fill my pan with tubes it was quite a bit messy but I persevered and now I am am letting them dry in the pans at the moment. That was a good idea about scraping the toothpicks on a palette for using later for making a chart of the colours and the corresponding name in order of the pans in the tin. Thanks for this video it was very helpful.

    Agree, very helpful! I'm a complete newbie to watercolors (since grade school days eons ago) and was perplexed when our class supply list had "tubes" of paint. In class one, I squeezed out a bit here and there but that clearly wasn't going to be a long term solution!

      Glad it was helpful! I too have used up a lot of tube watercolors before I started using pans.

    I've been filling my half pans with old dried out tubes of gouch and water colour paints works well.

    Hello Sandra, Can I somehow refresh dried watercolour paints in tubes and then fill the pans with the “ refreshed” colours?

    How do you suggest drying it?

    Hi Sandra The correct way to say the measurement of paint in the tubes is Milliliter (fluids) and not Millimeter which is length. Unless you are describing the length of a squished out tube of Daniel Smith ( been there...) now that was definitely millimeter and 15 ml is about 24 inches long. Keep up your good work!!

      Hi, thank you for watching and your comment! (: Yes, I know I've made an error in the measurement, made a note in the description! Thanks

    How do you know your paints are fully dry before using them again?

    • @SandraEide
      @SandraEide  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most of the paints will condense down after those few days and if you press lightly you can feel that they are smooth and dry. Some will take a little longer and when you press down they might feel a little squishy still, but the top will be smooth and mostly dry already. It's safe to use a bit of paint from the mostly dry paints even if they aren't completely dry yet.

    Do you fill the pan a second tim? Paint filled first time will dry and shrink volumn.

      Sometimes I do fill it a second time. Often I will over fill the first time and it will level itself. (:

    Thank you so much for the video. I was wondering why/how you would use this process. The color swatch idea is brilliant! I’m assuming your swatch fits in the lid?

    • @SandraEide
      @SandraEide  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Thanks for watching. I use this process whenever I need to refill a paint, or when I get a new color. I cut out a size of watercolor paper that fits into the lid and then swatch and label as I go (:

    I have just recently filled some pans with Winsor Newton Cotman water color. They are still tacky after 3 days. Am I being impatient?

    • @SandraEide
      @SandraEide  ปีที่แล้ว

      I notice some of my paints will remain tacky for more than the 3 days, might just be some mixtures of pigments that take a bit longer. In that case if I really need to get going and use the colors I use them anyways. Hope they dried nicely for you now! Thanks for your comment
