It is a revolving door, ups and downs. Some people just want a job doing for nothing. They wouldn’t even ask that of another trade. We are professionals at our job and you never know we’re it will take you.
    Keep it up 👍

I had some customers that were a lovely couple. Had me round for a meal until 4am! Gave me no end of things for free they were gettting rid of. As soon as i put my hourly rate up by £5. I never heard another thing from them. They moved on to another gardener and didn't have the decency to let me know. You live and you learn i guess.

@maxwellsgrasscuttingservices cheers Rob. It's been nice to watch them go from one gardener to another. They've now replaced alot of the grass with clover, and do most of the work themselves, I'll leave them to it.

I put my rates up this year (quite a jump) because I was over committed and wanted to thin out some customers. I could have filled the gaps 3 times over.

Nice one Rob. My customers were all great with my price increases. Ive got rid of 2 jobs as they were too time consuming. I’ve managed 36 lawns this week & have tipped over the £1k mark for the first time on just lawn work! But I’m knackered now!

Started my own gardening company 6 weeks ago , first week I had 3 jobs and now I’m 6 weeks in I’m doing 15-20 jobs per week , mow blow and go is definitely the best , social media & word of mouth has been brilliant but with first year charging low prices but still double minimum wage if hours worked out , the jobs I think will take long I do charge higher but some still be happy and the ones that think to expensive I be happy either way , do you still cut grass in the winter for clients that want every 4 weeks regardless or do you tell them no ? Great video

I would love to hear more about marketing..! Going back to close to full time instead of just part time... So i need to get my current schedule of approx 1.5 days a week up to 3-4 to fit in around my other business that has taken a nose dive (hence the need for more gardening clients)
Around my area, whenever someone posts on a Facebook local hub page asking for a gardener, there are often 50+ responses, with some saying "happy to come whenever and will work for £15 p/h" some have even been less.
I just worry that its hard to compete with the sheer volume..!
Would be good to know a few tips etc, cheers!
