Funny really a UK government aircraft with the Union flag on the tail of a FRENCH aircraft!
What make is it? Airbus?

Boris was behind the purchase of the two French Flacon 900 LX jets for the UK Government. Had Common sense been taken into the decision to purchase corporate jets then the Bombardier Global 5500 or the Global 6500 should have been selected, both of these aircraft have UK parts content in the fuselage manufactured in Belfast, and the turbine engines are Rolls Royce. The French Falcons selected by the Conservative PM Boris have 'ZERO' British content. The Conservatives have proved again that they are against manufacturing interests in the UK. At least the UK Voting public gave the Tories the British 'BOOT'. '' The Falcon 900LX is too small for the current UK Government delegation'' and is one of many many poor decisions by former PM Boris. 09 07 2024 UK
@@thomasecosse I'm not in favour of the 'it must be best, its made in Britain' mentality. It leads to some poor procurement decisions. Maybe where self sufficiency is important like defence, but Bombardier is hardly short on orders for the 'Global' series aircraft.
I'm more interested in your delegation size point, but don't they use the A330 to take the larger delegations to major international conferences?
According to GuardianJet, and I think these are US gallons but it's the ratios that matter, fuel burn per hour is:
Falcon 900LX - 304
(make sure you're looking at the relevant LX version if disputing these figures)
Global 5500 - 472
Global 6500 - 509
Yes I know the Falcon 900 has 3 engines but they're economical ones and Dassault Falcons are known for being structurally efficient too.
this is dumb, the falcon is the best jet for the job, has a longer range meaning that longer trips can't be made without using the voyager (which is meant to transport a regiment) -
A very nice aircraft, built by our NATO allies. The MRJ90 would have been a good choice, too, and with a transatlantic capability.
At least it's more fuel efficient than the RAF A330 voyager that Boris was getting around in.

Nice to see Keir Starmer not practicing what he preaches about net zero.
There is no other way you can get to the places he needed to be in the time available. The UK trains are a mess that needs to be fixed asap. In the meantime Starmer needs to make many initial visits including NATO Summit in DC, and all this is happening in a very short time. Maybe let's give it a year and see how Starmer gets around. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

To all the people saying he shouldn't be using a private jet, would you rather he wasted a multiple days travelling around the UK by train in order to pander to you or he actually used the time to get on with the job of being prime minister? Aside from the time savings I would've hoped the recent events in the US highlighted the importance of giving our politicians proper security when they travel which this makes a lot easier.
Yes the more time he spends on a horse and cart the less time he has to make an ass of running the country.
We still havent got over when Labour under Gordon bankrupted us and that Cameron fool put us into austerity.
Then came covid and the Partygate hypocrite.
So i am not holding much hope for the future.

I have no problem with him flying around in what is basically a private jet. But I really have a problem with him then preaching and enforcing net zero on everyone else. Yes I know he's the Prime minister and has to travel, but thousands of other people have extremely important things to do.

Air skint one, could not afford the fuel for a bigger one. No drilling numpty, better put prices down so we can heat are homes in the winter.

This is one of the aircraft that the prime minister uses. An Airbus A321LR and A330 MRRT (reg ZZ336) are also used
To fly anywhere in the UK & Europe this is all you need. You don't need two 747's & 6 C17 Globemasters.
