Driving from Charlotte to Asheville, North Carolina

Friday, July 27th 2018 - Landed in Charlotte, North Carolina, rented a Toyota Corolla and drove up to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville. Took I-85 from Charlotte Douglas International and connected up with US-74 West near Gastonia. Drove for a while before merging on I-26 West towards Asheville and onto the Biltmore Estate grounds. After entering the estate, drove around until we arrived at the Village Hotel. Decent traffic, uneventful drive. Should have rented a Camaro or Challenger, but didn't know Budget rental cars offered them at CLT.

Nice I live near Charlotte (Waxhaw) and do this drive all the time. US-74 is a mess through Shelby, however NCDOT is slowly building a bypass which will make the trip highway grade the whole way.

A very nice difference if roads to see you drive on. Just one question; how come you drove to Michigan but not to Asheville? Asheville is a bit closer than Detroit to where you live

I live in Canada Quêbec and it takes 18 or 17 hours to get there, whoever lives near NC is lucky!
