    You are the king of the home brew stout - what we need is an ultra simple breakdown of your cold crash and your serving. Then... and only then will I cease to be jealous of your pours!

    Hi Graham. Just brewed this one. Do you have your gravity readings. It was supposed to be 4.5%. But my OG was 1.041 which is too low. FG was 1.012 about right. This only gives 3.6%.
    Thanks.

      Alright mate I am in work but can check later 41 -12 = 29 x.133 =3.8% . Seems low alright . Did you check fermentation had finished 48hrs apart?

      @@grahamlawlorshomebrewrevie8227 yes it down to 1.013 which is about right for a stout. Plus that’s what it says on the instructions. I think the OG should be over 1.050. Seems low.

    Just Kegged this kit other day. Believe I have done this before but fews years back now. Looks spot on the one you have poured. Sat chilling in my fridge for 2 nights then have 70/30 mix put in to 30 psi will leave for a month then try. Don't really like force carbing unless i really need to. Find the final flavor not as good.

    HI Graham, love the videos really interested in getting into the idea brewing stout from watching your videos as at the moment i just buy commercial kegs. would you recommend and beginner fermentor kits etc and good place to find a corny keg

      Hi Cathal delighted you are enjoy the videos . The best place is the homebrew company. You will get your starter kit there for brewing for about €75 it’s a kit and I would recommend a coopers stout or coopers irish stout , shamrock stout is also fantastic. I make these with 1kg of dark malt extract. Helps give it more body and flavor. They have the kegs as well anc the fittings you need . Glad to help a line the way cheers 🍻

      @@grahamlawlorshomebrewrevie8227 Thanks for your help Graham. do you use the dark malt extract instead of Dextrose etc, also i see it on the home brew but in a 1.5kg can do you just use 1kg out of this can?

    Hope you had a good birthday Graham and the original Guinness went down well as I'm sure all your home brew would go down well with your guests..?
    How are you finding the big keg fridge? All ok?
    Cheers, Keep up the good videos.

Have it outside the window of my bar and drilled threw the wall working great. Had a great birthday thanks Dan hope to see a new video from yourself soon Cheers 🍻

    Looks great! I’ve watched all your videos now and I am jealous of the great pour on your stouts! I’m going to get a bottle of nitro/co2 soon as I acquired a regulator recently, what length/bore/pressure do you use for the tap/keg?

    • @grahamlawlorshomebrewrevie8227
      @grahamlawlorshomebrewrevie8227  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers Iomarm . I used about 5 ft in total the pipe I have is 9.5mm I believe I would have to check . The gas is set at 36psi and you need to make sure you have a creamer nozzle on your tap very important to get that nice creamy head with the great cascade effect when settling. Cheers and thanks for watching 🍻

    Great video again Graham. I had seen this on the HBC site but wasn't sure when it read Imperial Stout. I have 2 batches of Coopers Irish on ready Christmas week. How does the Muntons rate out of the kits you've done? Is the Coopers still best?

    • @grahamlawlorshomebrewrevie8227
      @grahamlawlorshomebrewrevie8227  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers Johnny . That’s great nice few pints for Christmas so 😎. This muntons is very good it is different than the coopers because of the slight coffee flavor but it no way overpowering. After my first pint I didn’t really notice it anymore. I think the shamrock stout is probably the closest you will get to Guinness from a kit . Only yesterday I was drinking it with my dad he thinks the shamrock was nicer that Guinness. I had both on tap for him to compare . We kept with the shamrock and then I tried to test him gave him a Guinness and he still thought it was shamrock. That’s saying a lot as he is drinking Guinness for nearly 55 years

    Good video Graham, looks like you've influenced a few people, cause homebrew company are sold out 😅. Question, I've a stout faucet with a removeable disk, do I only need to remove the disk for it to suit larger, or am I looking at getting another nozzle? Going for the coopers European larger next 🍺

    • @grahamlawlorshomebrewrevie8227
      @grahamlawlorshomebrewrevie8227  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really that’s gas . You can of course just take the creamer rubber disk and little white spreader out . Very easy to do but if you like s new nozzle is cheap enough . I always take apart my nozzles and leave the soaking in hot water does them the world of good to keep them clean . Cheers 🍻

    Hey Graham. I got into homebrewing over a year ago after seeing your stouts. I wondering if you or anyone else watching your videos have any experience with off flavor/smell? I'm on batch 24 and still that same undrinkable flavor/smell. I can't figure it out. I'm in Dublin and willing to send samples to anyone close to get their feedback.

      Thanks for the reply lads. They have all been kits. I usually go for the more expensive ones (mangrove jacks, muntons, bulldog and coopers)and use spray malt or LME where needed. I know I made some mistakes on my first few batches but think I have everything in order now. Have used both PBW and oxi clean with starsan. I have changed my plastic fermenters. I have used a heatpad with an inkbird at times. Campden and pure brew for my water(not at the same time). It seems to happen during fermentation. Can't figure it out. I'm in Firhouse Graham. Appreciate and feedback 👍
