Hardsuit Labs was making my dream BL2 game. You could see how awesome it was going to be. At least there is a parallel universe out there that gets to play it. Swansong was a choice, but felt like it was a DLC, not a main game.
I think the Hardsuit version looked like it was going to have it's fair share of potential problems but it still looked a billion times better than this.
NO, no more delays. The game is already 3 years past its original planned release date. At this point, it doesn't matter how crappy the game is anymore. Either turn in your paper, or just cancel the thing already.
The reason they ran away is they got scared when Cyberpunk got dragged for not actually delivering on what it promised RPG wise. So that right there was a sign.

The second I learned you're an "Elder" Vampire that calls themselves "Phyre" I checked out. Literally like playing a character called Wolf that's secretly a werewolf. Cringe, boring, creatively bankrupt. Well, coming from a group called "The Chinese Room" what did we expect?
At this point I want them to release the game as fast as possible so we can laugh at it for how bad it is and move on. I don't think the game would turn out any better even if we gave them 1+ years of extra time. If this is what they have to show for after four years of delay, one more year is not gonna make a difference. I doubt Paradox wants to keep funding this game any longer either and just wants to be done with it and eat their losses.
Well said. They've butchered this, and it didn't even have to be this way. Whats insulting is that paradox only seem to care about having the name of a beloved franchise attached to their pile of crap, but don't care that it is a pile of crap
I think that's what annoys me the most. If they had done this and done it WELL, they'd be swimming in money AND get a glowing reputation to boot but no!
Paradox bought white wolf in 2015. During thlse 10 years their stock peaked at 45.5 dollars a share in 2021 which is when the extended gsmeplay hardsuit labs trailer released. Currently their stock sits at 18.5 a share and paradox has had to cancel numerous projects, reboot more in Devlopment, and has released a serires of poorly received flops. At this point, I think it would be best for Paradox to sell world of darkness someone who has the ability to make games with the ip. It's been nearly a decade since the sale and at this rate their stock is going to be worth as much as it did before they acquired world of darkness (it's 8 dollars a share away). Maybe ask CDPR. They atleast have experience in adapting table top rpgs to videogames, have dipped their toes into comic and anime production, and it would be a great third pillar to round out their catalog. They're also a European publisher like you are so it's less paperwork and still leaves the door open for potential rights if paradox wants to make say, a 4x wod game.
I am very saddened to see where the development of this game has gone. Feels like watching the curse of bloodlines one play out again in real time. What annoys me even more is how the devs refuse to course correct despite overwhelmingly negative reception and criticism. Now don't get me wrong, I get a lot of people just say it looks like crap and leave, however I know many people (myself included). Who have left very long detailed criticisms with suggestions on how to fix it. Best response I ever got was a community manager on another steam discussion letting me know they read everything when I asked if they saw my discussion.
Sometimes it seems that an isometric tactical WoD rpg with a focus on variation, narrative, and dialogs (like Sadowrun for example) would have already sold well and had several sequels by now. I didn't expect Paradox to be so stupid. It really is a paradox.
Didn't they say they were not going to reveal anything after hardsuit got fired, until it was ready and the company that was working on it. Now its like heres the team and actually its no way near ready
When they decided to have a set in stone character I went yeah no and have lost all interest in this game. Cheers for another 10 - 15 years of waiting for (hopefully) someone competent to dust it off.
I've been saying for literal years that the game was canceled and Paradox just doesn't want to admit it. I thought I might have been wrong when these new diaries and whatnot started to drop; it looked terrible, but it was SOMETHING. Now I'm starting to swing back around...the game WAS canceled, has always been canceled, was never un-canceled, and all this new stuff is just some sort of coverup because...I don't know...Paradox doesn't want to have to pay back their investors yet. "No, no, the game is coming. You'll get your money soon. No, I'm not kicking a can down the road, why do you ask?"

For me, one of the big problems is a prenamed character (and it's a DUMBASSED name) and the next one is one that proves the devs that were put onto the game to replace the other ones just DO NOT understand the lore in the tabletop. Which you at least have to have a background for to get the freaking game right. The last BIG problem for me was they handed the remaining development to a company that knows FUCK ALL about RPG's. That right there is a HUGE red flag. If not a definitive death knell. - Phyre (ugh) is purportedly an ELDER vampire... Yet they stuck him with a diablerized/witch spell??? spirit of a THIN BLOOD = as a game guide. Fuck. Right. Off. The Tremere Elder and clan leader TRIED to diablerize Saulot. He may and decidedly may NOT have succeeded. We do not definitively know. Saulot was the Antideluvian that was the patriach to one of the clans... The Tremere Elder did this to gain more power. Which is a common desire in the lore as your power ranking is generationally dependant. With the THIN BLOODS being the WEAKEST possible rank as they are too far removed from Cain's curse to even have a recognized clan or any noteable vampiric abilities to help them form one. I know there are at least a few older thin bloods that have come into prominence, but there's NO FUCKING WAY that any random thin blood; even with the bullshit spirit battle rules that have been tacked on to avoid too many players seeking diablerie as a path to improving their character's powers, would be able to overpower an Elder vampire on the spirit plane. So that whole notion (barring a witch's help in curse - which would be the only tennable explanation) is absolute BULLSHIT right off. Wherever they go from there storywise is tainted by the lack of understanding of a fairly basic principle in the table top's game mechanics.
I thought Phyre was a thin blood who had the spirit of the elder within him. At least that was my impression from one of the videos. If it's really the other way around, well, that's some bullshit.
@@RC__1207 The video I watched on it literally called Phyre the elder vampire, with a thin blood voice in his head. But your guess at this point is as good as mine. At least if you're right, it would make more sense. : /

World of Darkness became World of Wokeness. Vampires in the tabletop are absolute babies, nothing in comparison to V20. A horror-setting, in which the biggest horror missgendering someone is.
One of things missed about wokes is they seem edgy , but in reality they are deeply conventional and pro status quo , woke games are boring, fighting a battle that was won decades ago, Bloodiness was very edgy, no faction was "good" it was all a matter of perspective , in short this game will be boring, passable, quickly forgotten
Vampire the masquerades entire moto was essentially “Monsters we are yet monsters we become” if you remove those themes it just becomes urban fantasy errand running simulator. To be fair the greater kitschy world of darkness can make for some interesting Errands. But a lot of the stupider elements of WoD that made it entertaining as fuck seem to have been shelved in the reboots. Classic case of trying to make something “grounded” and just sucking all the entertainment out.
Imagine releasing a game only for people to constantly compare it to a mod based on the same franchised released probably years later on what will be a 15 year old engine at that point that someone made for free.
There was an attempt to recreate the first game on Unity i believe. It was called Project Vaulderie. Unfortunately it was cancelled long ago due to legal action against it's devs

This game is 100% dead on arrival, they should just put it on ice for an indefinite amount of time and remake Bloodlines or Redemption first on a much smaller scope and budget, that should let them gauge the public interest in the series, reawaken the franchise and make a quick profit so they can then decide if Bloodlines 2 is worth the massive effort and dumping even more money on it or just cease development altogether

I canceled my pre order the day they fired Brian Mitsoda.
@@johnturtle6649 that sucks for the both of us, but with most digital pre-orders being lame these days, I'd just wait to buy after I see gameplay footage of other people playing games these days. No Man's Sky and Cyberpunk 2077 being prime examples of why early play isn't the best play.
@@JustinLazlo Imagine if they had been given the last FOUR YEARS to fix it...
This game has been in development hell for the last 8 years. No way its going to be as good as the old Bloodlines.
Dialogue wheel? Why not? It worked out so well for Fallout 4.
lol
Loool
NO, no more delays. The game is already 3 years past its original planned release date. At this point, it doesn't matter how crappy the game is anymore. Either turn in your paper, or just cancel the thing already.
The reason they ran away is they got scared when Cyberpunk got dragged for not actually delivering on what it promised RPG wise. So that right there was a sign.
they should have kept the orginals creators
A delayed game can become good, but a bad game is bad forever.
@@D--FENS We've heard that tripe before. Duke Nukem Forever ring any bells? What about Mighty Number 9?
@@Nyrufa It's not necessarily 'tripe' but it is short-sighted. Most delayed games were troubled to start and have VERY LITTLE hope of actually "becoming" good games by the end if they even get put out. That's not to say it can't happen, or hasn't... but it's about as likely to see as Hailey's Comet.
To Nyrufa - you obviously haven't played a Bethesda game yet, have you? ; ) Cyberpunk took itself 8 years to release, so yeah. Three years is not great, but if they get it out by next year or the year after it's still three less than Cyberpunk took, and about seven to ten less than ES6 is gonna be.
@@Famygdalafor these schizos it's not about money, it's about "the message".
I knew it was going to be bad because The Chinese Room is involved.
Intercation on social media is also absolutely dead
Not defending them but they were on summer break.
I have a sneaking suspicion that they still have nothing but some promo-exclusive footage and a bundle of concept art.
At this point, just call it VTM: Phyre or something and save Bloodlines 2 for an actual sequel.
When they decided to have a set in stone character I went yeah no and have lost all interest in this game. I had it on my wishlist for a long time, but when I saw where the game was going I went and unwishlisted it. To be honest the game needs to be canned as I reckon it will be a dumpster fire on release.
What's even more sad is that I think HSL's version was gonna have character creation. And I was more excited for HSL's version (despite their drama) than what we're getting now
@@hunty.0 That is what excited me about the game way back then when HSL were making it, was having that ability to create your own character. Now with the current developer it seems just like laziness to have a set in stone character uber character.
@@Ghastly10 I miss making our own character and them NOT having a voice. I feel like these pre-made characters is just someone pushing in their own OC that we have to play as, and the dialog.

Can i please just get an updated jeanette voerman
Men of culture we meet again.
I feel as if it wouldn’t be as bad if it wasn’t called bloodlines 2
Paradox Interactive FIRED the lead writer and one of the original story directors for Bloodlines 1 over a tiny and very misconstrued "remark" he made. After which, to avoid being sued for copyright, they had to completely rework the story and characters, wasting millions and time in the process..... This game is being developed by snowflakes on rainbow steroids, i swear!
Imagine you plan to off yourself in december, but someone from the corp comes down and tell you to write diaries about it, as If it's the best thing in the world. I would honestly feel bad for the devs, but since they actively participate on destroying one of my most beloved gaming legacy I just want this to be over soon as possible. Cheers for another 10 - 15 years of waiting for (hopefully) someone competent to dust it off.
Until Blackrock influence is limited, not many mainstream Western entertainment is gonna be fun or great.
Elder looks bland too
Like baguette with side of bread
Remember Jonathan Reid? That's how i like my vampire persona to look like
True! lol but also why remove character customization! It doesn’t make sense to me lol
@jollyroger9680 It always makes no sense to me at all
Whenever an rpg game inspired/adapted from a tabletop doesn't give you character creation
Sad state of affairs. The original story for VTM was so rich. They could have phoned it in and just read two books and had all kinds of story info. I miss the groups for this with table top. Truly makes me sad.
They could have just remade the original with updated graphics and still made a killing.
@@johnturtle6649 💯 agree. I honestly wish they had. This game still has a huge group of fans. This was an easy win for them they just dropped the ball big time.
The set in stone character is what drove fans away after Chinese room announced it…… The Hardsuit labs version actually excited fans and this just shows fans its another Swansong that they slapped Bloodlines name on it to try and sell more! But right now what we’re seeing with them being quiet means its probably bad, they are probably no where near done and they’re out money probably because they pissed it away, like google employees do when they come to work, they did 10% work then 90% they were getting coffee, having chats with coworkers and going to the quite room. Guarantee thats whats happen the last year. And now they’re panicking with Paradox breathing down their necks, and chances are people Paradox is probably going to shelve the game once they learn Chinese room wasted their money!
its not exacly a premade charc, the site says you can stil pick youre clan and charcs,i dont think every clan has a default standert charc you probably have some costumisation
Just sell the IP
yeah sell it to the orginal creators , they know what the fans want
Fingers crossed for a miracle. We certainly need one with the dire state of new gaming releases lately.
It's going to be more than a disappointment
Despite all the negative response to this game I really see the community not angry at VtM but at who is handling the IP.
_Everyone is hungry. Chef’s are cooking. But how does anyone have an appetite when the cooks won’t cater?_
im actually angry tbh
I guess I’ll just play Bloodlines one and cry
Vampire: The Messquerade®
look how they massacred my boy :(
Better play first bloodlines with mods
Dev diaries are normal, Paradox does this for every game and DLC they produce
Best put a stake in the project now and leave it there till sun up while they still can.
The series breaks the masquerade thus will never be allowed to be released
World of Darkness became World of Wokeness. Vampires in the tabletop are absolute babies, nothing in comparison to V20. A horror-setting, in which the biggest horror missgendering someone is.
Why the hell would anyone who is excited for this game need to hear a developer diary about the Cammies or the Anarchs? Who is make this?
i'm _so glad_ i got my preorder back really early. shit's a dumpster fire.
I pre ordered and as soon as i heard about the development change i canceled right away , its over for this franchise
I can't wait for the next video game market crash
Imagine releasing a game only for people to constantly compare it to a mod based on the same franchised released probably years later on what will be a 15 year old engine at that point that someone made for free.
as it is, maybe someone will mod and remaster bloodlines one.
That gives me hope! Although the facial animations seem to be lacking, still someone might figure something out
There was an attempt to recreate the first game on Unity i believe. It was called Project Vaulderie. Unfortunately it was cancelled long ago due to legal action against it's devs

Honestly it would only take to remake the old bloodlines game with same story and characters just new graphics, and maybe some additional quests, and things, and they could be bathing in money
And have a good understanding of what a sequel needs!
Don’t summon that monkey paw. It would ruin the game. Jeanette and all females censored, bailbonds emails censored. Every female would look and act like Dumpster Phyre. Its literally impossible to get funding for a raunchy and inflammatory vibey game anymore lol
CCP has given up the WOD open world game long time ago... Such a shame...
That was a great concept. Maybe even overly ambitious that it could have gone really bad or really good.
Everybody knows, including the hopeful people trying to lie to themselves. Same with DA4 and any other foul smelling downgrade masquerading as a sequel.
The was a hope? LOL. I mean I couldve understand it before they showed first gameplay and information, but hope in 2024... wow.
i lost hope after they fired the original creators

I'll admit when I first heard about this game I was extremely hyped but now I just I don't know I don't know how to feel about it

Nope 18 months or 2 years and it was completely broken on launch and you also have you consider graphics new vegas graphics wouldn't slide in a new game.

I be okay with something like Deus ex Human revolution ...but we are getting mankind divided if...if we are lucky.
Naaah, Deus Ex is a fantastic IP. A bit like Mass Effect trilogy. This VTMB2 is a failure just as a concept.
The fact that there is still no solid release date for the game is concerning. Really feels like the game is going to go one of four ways. One is that they just shadow drop the game with no marketing about it. Two is that the game gets delayed to next year. Three is that the current version gets dropped and The Chinese Room gets fired for another developer. Or lastly four is that Paradox just says fuck it and completely cans Bloodlines 2 forever.
Honestly, the fourth option might be the best one. A mercy kill.
True. I wishlisted it 6 years ago and never took it off.
Caine has drained all the life out of this title.
The think that bloodlines 2 could be anywhere as good as bloodlines 1 must be smoking some heavy stuff
Not sure why I clicked on this.. Nothing against the guy who made the video. He does good work. I've raged SO MUCH when the project was ate up with woke YEARS ago. I've mourned VTM. It's permadead unfortunately. Woke killed it.
The team should have played the first game from start to finish before even starting the sequel...
Guys, we need to unite and just make a remake of first one ourselves. We can do it!
Before that, we should write to W.O.D. and Paradox socials how unhappy we are with the current state of affair
MAN!!!! I don't want any game to turn into shows and novels like Twilight, The Vampire Diaries, Vampire Academy, The Originals, Fifty Shades of Grey, Blue Bloods, or anything similar. It needed like True Blood is closer to World of Darkness not some drama about having affairs with another clan or different character. Goddamn Ii!!! I would rather buy an actual game from the original developer than have something else.
Shocking. 😂
*AGAIN WITH THE CURSED DATE ... GROW THE CURSED BLOOD UP ALREADY!*
This game is doa. There's nothing left of the original here.
Ironically the last game I ever pre-ordered was soul reaver.
They really have no excuse when Baldurs gate at least let us have demo version of the game to play while they finished off the game so we had something to play in the meantime. They could do that but are too lazy to even put out a demo!
I’m afraid it’s another cyberpunk situation where they haven’t even started working on the game!
they should have just finished the game hardsuit labs made it would have been done by now and would have been a great sequel faithful to the first one
They might as well have Rockstar from GTA work on it and sell merchandise to bring in more money to make major changes and improvements
Why would anyone want that
The only way this could have been good is if it was not based on the newest stuff. All clans and factions available to play with open world systems as well. 20th anniversary were amazing books and a great system.
I lost interest in this the first time it went into development hell like 10 years ago or whenever it was.
Also the devs using chat gpt to write their shit is funny cause one day AI will be good enough to just make the games for us and we won't need those fuckers at all anymore.
they did that because they know nothing about the lore and the Tabletop game. Ask them to let you play as a Baali or Salubri...they wouldn't even know what you are talking about it.
we need fans for a remake of the first game , im so tired of what they are doing to the second game
