Some of those mirrors are just outrageous, I have a love hate relationship with them as I don’t really like them but I also find them totally fascinating and I am scared my love of cleaning mirrors and shiny things will entice me into adding some to mine when I get it, I would be standing there with a water pistol ready for any little kids coming along with their grubby ice cream covered hands touching them. What great shots you got of the scooters tootling about and you must’ve been crouching down quite low. It was lovely to see so many ladies riding them too. When I see the scooters riding about I do get a tear in my eye and think how my Dad and Grandad would’ve loved to be there showing off their scooters and my Brother too, since his strokes he doesn’t ride now but one day hopefully he will again. I do find all the lovely scooter people are such a friendly lot and wave and smile…so different to all the motorbike events I used to go to, I can’t quite believe my affections have changed over to scooters and now I love the sound of them….when I am riding my own my Brother will give me hell for all the mickey taking I did to him. I would love to have a go in a sidecar to see what that’s like. Thank you for sharing this little treasure with us and much appreciated x 👍😎⭐️🎶🎶👋
Thank you for your kind words Helen , I’m pleased the channel has had a positive effect in your life … a couple of the “over accessoried scooters “ are purely for show - not road worthy ! The scooter folk are generally a very friendly wherever you go they will stop and chat … I’m happy the show has “converted “ you from the dark side 😂 …… and your closer than you think about deterring “grubby little hands “ on your shiny bits 😂👍
Here's another brilliant video i missed don't know how I missed this one brilliant scooters and music as always. PS will you be at the scooter weekend in skegness this weekend hope to meet you if you are coming. Long live mods ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🤩😊😎🤗

@@scootercoop5234 Understood! I like to see the scooters at Brighton. Hopefully ai may spot my old bike? In the late 60's I took my 'newly bought '(but second hand) Vespa 180 GS to Brighton with my pals. We parked up on the front and went for a wander about. When we came back my scooter was gone! The other lads all had their bikes intact--mine was gone! Sadly it wasn't a joke and I had to return home on the train to face my father who had loaned me the 80 Quid to buy it! Great video. I’ve owned many Vespa’s & Lambretta’s since getting into the scene in 98. One thing I can’t stand though is seeing all the lights & mirrors on any scooter post say 1968. Seeing PX Vespa’s & Auto’s all “modded” up look absolutely ridiculous
Many thanks for your feedback, I here what your saying … I guess it’s a case of each to there own , like stray dogs - I wish I could take them all home 👍
I saw some lovely scooters in Southampton down at the casbah in 66..and there was an underground cafe at the bar gate,of which I can’t remember the name, but a few years later it was called “racing cars”..both big mod hangouts..
@@scootercoop5234 it was the first time i saw hordes of mods…i remember copper plated side panels..the music and the coffee.. River deep and mountain high was always booming out of the juke box.. I never understood if this group of individuals, Mods, were racist, as I never felt totally comfortable around them. They don’t give off the friendliest vibe, not towards me. Also, please tell me - what’s that totally out there, groovy song you played at the beginning, it rocks!! Never heard that before, but were The Kinks actually Mods, they certainly looked part of that era. That’s what brought me to these videos, their classic song Tired of Waiting for You. Who is the photograph of? Is that them? I couldn’t quite make it out.
Many thanks for your feedback sir , to answer a few of your questions.. the first song “1-2 boogaloo “ by the nite lights , secondly no way are mods racist , and as far as I’m aware the kinks were mods , there’s a picture on the internet of Peter Quaife on his modded up Vespa . 👍
That’s perfectly alright, don’t worry!! I wasn’t trying to be arsey, or stuck up, people do get it wrong, but it is fine, it’s not an English name, so it is understandable. Fascinating video with the Mods and scooters, and I love the music!!
That’s true Winston .. but are lot of things are a contradiction with cults ….. 60s mods were dancing to ska , mixed with suede heads and skins … yet fought with 80s skins and rude boys … 60s mods lived by the code of wanting to be different- to be able to stand out in the crowd - even stand out amongst each other “peacocking” .. yet today it’s frowned on if your not like the elitist mods .. but if every one was the same as the elitist mods wouldn’t that defeat the object ? Whatever era you were a mod “everyone sang the anthem “ … “Hope I die before I get old” … yet the ones still in the scene are at least 40+ years on and still singing it 🤔
@@scootercoop5234 Yes it's a bit confusing as an onlooker. The "I want to be different" by being a member of a group of people with a strictly defined set of dress codes? The music is great, I love a bit of rhythm and blues and soul, but the elitism is a huge turnoff. But each to his own I say.
@@scootercoop5234 to me the only mod scene i knew was Motown…the small faces, amen corner,a small era of the Beatles,Andy fair weather low is still working…he became a wizard on a guitar..i think Andy is a real mod..

So it's a subculture that was an expression of Modernism in the 1960s that recreates that era? Has anyone let them know that this is a contradiction?
