    Oh my god that quote you said in the opening!
    I for the life of me cannot get myself to do my laundry and dry it after sometimes it sit in the washer and it will begin to get stinky for days and days and then I’ll have to rewash it again to get the stink out and then once again, I’ll forget to dry it . But meanwhile I’m teaching myself intro quantum mechanics for fun

      If you can hang it in the sun that will help the stinky, just washing it again doesn't always get it out as it's a fungus. It can smell clean at first but after a couple of hours of wearing it the smell can come back. Hanging in the sunlight kills the fungus.

    I’m neurotypical and still struggle with meal planning and using up the food I’ve already bought. This struggle is definitely not exclusive to the ADHD tribe. I love your advice!

    You are such a gift to the world, I have struggled with feeding myself for so long. I now have a chronic illness and can't miss meals , this has been amazingly helpful and I just needed to tell you that.

    I like to cook because it's a creative outlet but it's not something I want to do everyday. My meal planning is similar to yours in that I plan out a week in advance. I really like your idea of ordering groceries online for pick up. It would be nice not to deal with the sensory overload while shopping. The other thing I do is I make things that will have leftovers. An example is I cook Monday/Tuesday and leftovers Wednesday/Thursday.

    Thank you sooooo much for this!!! I am already doing some of these things, but learned some new ideas. Feeding myself is one of my greatest struggles as an adhder, so overwhelming...

    I need help in this are so much. I hate cooking with a passion. I've always been bad at it (my home ec teacher from 11th grade noted how I struggled) and I hate how time consuming it is. Plus I hate washing dishes and have never have access to a dishwasher. I'm now at a point where it's more important than ever that I take control of my eating. I you haven't made a whole series on this, I would love if you made one in the future.

    Curbside pick up is such a game changer for me !! And I dont even care about any judgements I hear from people ! 10000% recommend. If I still lived in downtown Chicago I would probably deliver but for me it isn’t necessary. Makes me get out of the house and it is cheaper. And it honestly gives me a sense of accomplishment somehow. The previously purchased makes life so easy and sometimes it shows the date you bought it so you can see when you bought something in your pantry like 3 years ago 😬 lol
    Buying diced veggies is also worth it to me !

    hello can you talk in a video about the relationship between adhd and technology And what kind of use should a person with adhd make of technology? it often happens to me after a period in which I remain attached to these screens (internet searches but also watching videos on TH-cam) that I realize that in the meantime I have completely blocked myself on a physical level and consequently I enter a situation of both physical and mental estrangement from my body and the environment that surrounds me and sometimes I was even scared so I would like to understand if any studies have emerged regarding the harmful aspect of the internet for people with adhd And what kind of use should I do with these devices

      That's really interesting. I get that way sometimes too. It's a hyper fixation and it's hard to transition out of. I will do some research and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the suggestion.

    But what if I don’t have a list of favorites to rotate? I have tried a couple meal prep companies (hello fresh, blue apron, etc) but they weren’t very cost effective. Right now I’m pretty much surviving on frozen meals and cereal 😅

      I am pretty new at cooking/meal planning myself (as in I think I looked up how to cook potatoes 2 years ago?) and what I did to get started without any prior favourite meals or a big amount of cooking experience was making themes and looking up seasonal vegetables.
      I plan per season usually, because planning every month takes me too much time and energy and I sometimes skip months because of things interrupting my routine. Which means that I pick seasonal themed themes (heh) like salads during summer and stews during autumn/winter. I also looked up a list of local seasonal vegetables and fruits and dedicated some days to leftovers (I live alone and make bigger portions to either freeze or eat several days) and to things like frozen pizza.
      So for autumn for example (Monday-Sunday) I picked soup, leftovers, oven (pizza or meat/vegetables/potato), at work, some type of pasta/potato dish and whatever I want. I then look at the days still need an actual dish and take a look at things I know how to make/vegetables that are in season/sales/what I have at home. So for example Brussel sprouts are in season now and I have gnocchi I have to finish. So I look up an easy recipe (keyword easy because honestly, I am really inexperienced still and unless I have a lot of time I might get overwhelmed and procrastinate) with a small amount of ingredients. So for example baked gnocchi with Brussel sprouts and bacon. I write down the recipe or print it and if I like it I keep it and if I don't I get rid of it.
      I started out with only knowing how to make Dutch pancakes, boil eggs and make noodles and slowly went from there. I don't necessarily suggest trying a new recipe every day (unless you have the time and energy I guess) because it can be very overwhelming when you're just starting out. One of the first things I started making a lot was Japanese curry I think, because it's really easy and not a lot of new things. I also sometimes just plan things like noodles and add some form of protein or vegetable (I usually have some type of frozen vegetables like broccoli or spinach to add to things) to make it more balanced but not more complicated.
      It can be really overwhelming when you start out and people don't usually tell you how to get a base collection of recipes, but after a while you really will start to have a selection. It might not be very glamorous at first and honestly, you'll most definitely won't always be able to stick to your plan (life happens) and that's alright. It's all trial and error and every step is a step forward. I personally (try to) have a lot things in my freezer/house to eat on days that I can't cook for whatever reason (usually no energy) because they happen. If recipes are too complicated you can try different ones or ones for children (they are a very nice source, there is no shame in using them, they're meant to teach), if you don't like a specific type of cuisine you can try another one, you don't have to follow recipes perfectly if you don't want to buy an ingredient for 1 dish or if you hate the taste or texture of something.
      I think that the most important thing I've personally learned is that food is really forgiving. It might not be very pretty or even very tasty, but most things are survivable and/or fixable. I didn't mean to type this long of a message, but I struggled a lot with this too and I hope it helps at least a little bit.

    The list option on the apps just blew my mind! I have the meal planning part down pretty well, but the actual grocery shopping caused me to freeze! I normally end up borderline in tears every week because it feels so overwhelming and I spend an entire afternoon trying to put in a simple grocery order. Off to create my lists! You are such a blessing. 🥹
