Crown Zenith is still pretty easily accessible in places like Wal-Mart or other bigger retailers. Once it's less available or completely out of stock in most places, then we'll see some positive adjustment. They also just announced another CZ product, the Sky and Sea box or whatever. So there is still plenty of packs out there.
One of my favorite phrases is, "just because you can, doesn't mean that you should" comes to mind. People are never satisfied and have to take everything to the Nth degree, ruining it.

I love crown zenith regardless of the prices. It's such a good set to open. I just have to make sure I don't rip it all and save some for a rainy day way down the line.

That’s cause it’s still newer and still expensive. I can see a lot of “fake” streamers that magically get a bunch of hits, etc.. after they’ve sent in a bunch of packs / booster boxes..
@@PMTCards That’s true. People could soak up the immediate cost for the fame or views of pulling 3 base set zards in a row or something. But if that did start happening there would be so much distrust in the community (which is a shame) that the views would eventually diminish. And if that wasn’t enough to stop people’s motivations, then the vast number of scanned openings that would start to appear would drive their views down enough. If it was allowed to proceed past that you end up with a secondary market flush with dud packs, no one buys packs except straight from pokemon, and the pop circulating for commons/uncommons gets smaller with relatively larger pops of chase cards. Doubt it would ever get that far before pokemon figured out how to stop it tho, like they did with code cards and weighing

I 100% agree. This CT Scanner stuff essentially just means any packs you buy from resellers are essentially a waste of time. I assume the PC will probably have a counter measure in place of this becomes something that is easily accessible
I absolutely love this set. I think it's so beloved that when it does eventually become scarce and out of print, it will begin to appreciate again and at a faster rate than before. I don't think I've seen a set with this many gorgeous artworks of really popular pokemon altogether like this. Danny - the ONE situation where the CT scanner works...is with ultra-high-end booster boxes -- where it's truly worth the money to find out if it really IS a 1st ed box that hasn't been compromised (aka Paul's disaster).
These prices will likely drop even more considering Costco's 3 pk bundle and Sam's new 14 pk box at $40 coming out soon. The reason CZ went up in april/may is bc there was less product on the shelves. That changed the last cpl months. Easy supply vs demand.
The solution to the scanning is very easy: include metal cards in the new sets. Metal isn’t allowed near scanners due to the scanners huge magnetic pull. I was one of the users who weighed packs, but even when I did, I never could figure out what foil was there and the surprise of it was always fun. Sometimes I only got a rare card worth $1, but it was still worth the experience. The set they started offsetting the weight was actually Breakpoint. I just remember that when I got a lot of bad code cards and kept pulling a common rat or a pig instead of a holo.
I'm sure pokemon and other TCGs will implement something like you're saying, the issue is all sets currently and all vintage will now be seen in a more negative light and have much less trust. For people who invest in pokemon and run stores selling sealed, they could be in trouble, for genuine collectors, it'll be difficult trusting sealed older sets
They should serialize the packs after it has been ct scanned... for better or worse to track contents to prevent fraud. Almost like a slab after grading, ct scanned packs should also be tracked.
Sticking through Danny's video is as easy as looking at my "grails". And I do not want to look at a chart like the stock market to see where my collection values up at.
I absolutely agree. There are way too many corrupt people in this world for there to be a way for people to do this. It will be used in the absolute worst ways possible
If the main use of the ct scanner was to authenticate vintage sealed product then it would be great! But using it to find the hits out of vintage packs is never good.
A person will lose money if they try to scan packs and booster boxes looking for chase cards. For them to make money, the chase card would have to be in the first box being scanned for it and would have to be more valuable than both the box and the cost to scan the box. There is no modern card, not even the Moonbreon, that boasts a market value like that.
As I said before, print everything to the ground because people couldn't get their hands on products (demand) yet those same people will buy one or two products then call it quit after.
