    Hey Tyler! I'm 15 and your course modern rock techniques helped me a lot through my guitar journey. I live in India and here most of the people do not like rock music, while I cant play the traditional music here. I couldn't find a good teacher for guitar who teaches western style. Then I turned to your course, you really helped me out a lot. Thanks!!

    As soon as I'm home from work, I'm getting your Super Systems from Udemy. Thank you, I've struggled to get the ball moving on guitar, and I'm finally getting serious. This may be the thing that pushes me more.

      +Lamwoc Makes me wonder what the statistics are on that. Like, how many people got to his website NOT from TH-cam and how many people buy the course without checking him out on TH-cam first. Even without the TH-cam discount, it's still at 20% off. Curious as to when the last full value purchase was. IDK too many questions lol

    • @The111Abraham

      I'm really surprised you haven't figured it out yet. It's a bit of a marketing move. More people will purchase if there is a sign that says %50 off as opposed to it just being listed at "full price".

  • @rileymerino6340
    @rileymerino6340 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Instead of an Em7#5, you'd probably call that a Cmaj9 first inversion. You could call it the former, but the best way to service the tonality and use a more proper nomenclature would be to call it a Cmaj9/E. and it definitely is still a diatonic chord if you're in the key of G.

    • @rileymerino6340
      @rileymerino6340 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should always avoid using altered markings (b9, #9, b5/#11, #5/b13) if you don't have to because it implies to the reader and especially to someone planning to improvise over the changes that you are altering the scale, but in your case the chord you play is still diatonic and has no accidentals in it. If I'm sight-reading your song and see #5, and I'm about to take a solo, my mind immediately jumps to E superlocrian or F melodic minor, but it would clash if I played either of those over your chord, so that would get really confusing. I wouldn't realize it was diatonic until I actually heard the chord.

    Great stuff as usual. I play guitar at church where we occasionally do old hymns. The old hymns were written for piano and the sheet music shows a different chord on every word/beat. How would you approach playing these types of songs. It's already tricky to play electric guitar to accompany the piano.

    Hey Tyler, First of all, i am a huge fan and supporter of the channel. You bring a lot of education and entertainment to the table for musicians like myself. I have a question regarding the video. I am not a stranger to any topics in the video; however, i did have trouble finding out what chord you played after the minor 7 sharp 5. I tried to figure it out and it looks like It is a E major sus 2 #5. Can you look at the progression differently and say that's just the one chord being played with a raised 5th and a suspended 2nd?

    Ok, I am confused.

    • @ChristianIce
      @ChristianIce 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Pete
      No, you see, at the beginning he shows 4 chords: G E G E
      When it comes to the last one 5:58 he plays it as a G, calling it "homebase", but the 4th chord was an E minor, not a G.

    • @cryptooooooooo
      @cryptooooooooo 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, and E minor is the iii chord, which is a tonic function triad in the key of G major

    • @ChristianIce
      @ChristianIce 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The E minor is the second and the 4th chord, and if just play at 5:58 as I linked, you would get what I'm saying.
