Bob i gotta thank you for showing rhe way you work the lure, lotta fishing videos cut to like 3 seconds before the hook set. It's helpful for me to learn, I still get skunked but at least I'm learning
Thank you for watching. I feel you on that, I think a lot of channels set the camera to pre-record. So when its fish-on they hit the record button. Probably saves a lot of editing time.
i agree tying the dropper lure yourself is way better. I've been doing that the before I go out the last few trips and it saves so much time and money too.
Hahah thats awesome, and I agree. I try to get in the habit of doing it for when fishing on a boat or with other people. Helps the communication so people wind up if you've got a fish on. Or on a boat so the captain could potentially mark the spot. Thank you for watching se0ultrain!
You rock AZ, that is totally a pig fish. Never setting one back again, they taste incredible. Did you look up with a picture app or something? Just curious if a fish finder type app is out there
Hi @@BobAquatic yes, you can use Google lens to recognize. Although there are several. However, I use that the most. There's also the Samsung circle to search and I am sure iPhone has something similar if not even on iPhone I think you can use Google lens. I've tried the fish long time ago. I don't recall how I had it, probably fried just like how you did. I wish I was nearby to grab some of those porgies you released.
@@KayyytzI’m here to help. Ask whatever. You made the right choice on white. That’s really all you need. The colors are when you really want to get particular, occasionally it can make a difference between a bass hitting the lure or not. If they’re picky, sometimes a color change will get fish to bite in certain conditions. White will always work
Thank you fishing.with.homies! Great channel name. Thank you for offering the idea! Theres a ton of excellent videos on TH-cam about dropper loops and the hi-lo / knots. But it is an excellent winter idea and I will totally give it some thought on how to approach it in a unique way.
Hey Ryan! I have a few but the exact rod in this video is the 844S MGM, 7' 12-25lb and rated for up to 2 1/4 oz lures. You can get them direct from loomis site and register the rod for the lifetime warranty
This might be a dumb question, but how do you get the fish home? Do you need ice? Or just a plastic bag to put them in? Thanks! Have fished a bunch on the Brooklyn waterfront but never taken anything home with me cause I don't really know how I would do that via bike. Thank you Rob!
Hey, on this day I did not have ice so I just waited till the end of the session to start keeping. So about 2 hours or so off ice. I think I've gone 5 without ice and it was fine. Not advised for all species though. I usually take an ice pack in a plastic bodega bag or something if the trip is intended to keep fish. Or a little soft fabric beach bag cooler. They make some little ones that hold a freezer pack for a good while
I used to fish that area by bike. You have a lot of blackfish spots near by, but it's tough, tackle losing fishing, and light gear isn't going to work. You can turn rocks in the bay for the small Asian crabs for bait. And you won't see most of the keepers you hook, turning them while coming up through rocks from shore is not easy.
hey Jon I appreciate the invite! I have a pretty busy schedule the next few weeks between the youtube and work but that sounds like fun! Hope you can get on em from the skiff bud and thank you for watching the channel
They totally will! The trailer is great for making the profile big and small but you can totally catch fish without a trailer on a bucktail. Especially if you put a ton of hair on it for a slow sink, fish go nuts for it
Very underrated channel
Im learning a ton
Thank you for watching, I am siked you are learning more about fishing truhbf

Great video and catches
Thank you Bori!
That unknown fish you caught might be a Bergall. It is in a Wrasse family of fish. 🐟
Hey Bob your videos gave me the confidence to go fish the east river and I have been getting on em! Keep posting these vids man, tight lines
Hey that is what's up impo55! I am siked your getting out on the east river. Appreciate you watching the channel
I can smell the goodness of your catches....another great video & learning experience.
Fall run excitement more more more Tight Lines!!
Thank you Coney! Water should start cooling off and some species changes happening real soon. Tight lines!

I now yell "fish onnn!" whenever I catch a fish. Can confirm it makes the experience even more fun!

Hey Bob, nice catch. Thanks for sharing. When I looked up based on the picture, it said pig fish. Hope you enjoyed it.

Hey bob I’m going fishing today too, hope you have fun!
I hope you have fun too! What a wonderful weekend of beautiful weather to get some fishing in.
@@BobAquatic thanks! Caught a big striped bass yesterday on my smallest rod had to jump in to save the rod from falling into the water.
@@Kayyytz now that’s a great day! Have fun out there catching em up
@@BobAquaticsorry for asking so many questions I’m new, does the color of the bucktail matter? Got a white bucktail on sale

You should think about doing some tutorials for the rigs

Hi Bob. I am interested in the rod you’re using but the Amazon link doesn’t seem to work. Are you using the 7’ Heavy fast action?
