Everything was shared from Teacher to student it doesn't matter how we represent it only that we are in communion with it... A rose by any other name smells just sweat and that is I think Buddhist nuns is a special choice really a gift to practice the Dharma with others that way very powerful in the World the peacekeepers the ones who keep a balance for Mother Earth and Teachings Alive...Women were kept safe to nourish and care for the family and the men did the heavy lifting as monks and that's how it worked on Earth in the Buddha places like Dharamsala. This is my take from the sleeping westerlies.Canada.

Wonderful! It is so beneficial and necessary that we have fully ordained nuns.
On my path it is often nuns who have helped me the most.

I must've blocked it out but listening to this again, what that woman said in the beginning hit hard: the revisionist attitude to nuns place in monasteries has been a huge stumbling block. No way should that be the case. If impermanence is a thing, then even traditions pass away our evolve. I'm 100% behind Brahm on that decision. However, I hope it expands and old and new sons Everywhere come to their senses, so to speak. Womens rights ARE Human rights ;) Sadhu 🙏😊💞

How could someone Unlike this? People are truly weird.....

Luke McK it's probably people who think all religion is bs, or people who feel that women shouldn't be on the same level as fully ordained monks. People are weird.

The nun's stories are valuable, I wish they weren't being cut off midsentence.
Thank you for creating the video, nevertheless.

Why can't both genders just be called "monks"? I understand living separately and that, but we call both male and female performers "actors" now- not specifying women as "actresses". On planes "stuarts". Both males and females are "nurses". I'd like to see what happens, and I'm so happy women are accepted. For example I was raised Catholic (fast track to Buddhism) and the nuns will never be priests. Everyone can be a great teacher.

Exactly, tbh I'll always call the nuns monks, because the nuns are monks but the monks aren't nuns,

Agree. Bhikkhuni means "monk," not nun.
