Honestly, I prefer art videos with a voice over. It feels like hanging out with another artist while I work, and I think you have more charisma than you give yourself credit for. Your videos are so fun and conversational!😊
Your illustrations are wonderful - and inspiring. I’m learning a lot from just watching you paint your work - and you’ve helped me figure out some of the logistics for my (previously abandoned) own illustrations. Thanks for your generosity in sharing your work and ideas and process.
Hey, you aint no gravel rock! You are a shiny pastel mosaic piece with lots of little crevices with secret gold linings ❤ i love listening to you talk, both for your actual thoughts and ideas but also i find your voice..sort of soothing? 😇🩷
"the charisma of a rock" "like midwest gravel" ma'am when I was little I literally filled an entire bag with gravel and kept it in my room because I thought it was cool
I think you both rock🫶 And Allison you’re charisme is way better then you think, I love listening to you when working on my own art and you style is just out of this world!🤩
your videos are very therapeutic, informative and reassuring for me. I am trying to build an art business myself and instagram is frustrating me so much, that I thought about quit using it aswell, but how would people ever find me then? Is browsing Patreon even a thing? Anyway, thank you for your videos, they always help calming that doubt in me
That’s so kind!! Thank you!! 💛 I’m not sure if browsing on Patreon is really a thing (I don’t use Patreon much as a viewer, but more as a creator, so I’m not fully sure). I wish I had some solid advice for creatives looking to start their own business, but the truth is that what works for one person may not work for someone else. I did grow quite a following on Instagram, but I don’t know how much it truly contributing to me getting my own business going. Was Instagram more helpful for me? Was TH-cam? Social media platforms or constantly changing, and it’s hard to truly gauge how helpful they are for creators growing their business.
I can totally relate to Instagram.... it’s been probably almost a year and barely any of my audience on there sees my posts! Instagram is barely showing it to any of my followers. And it’s been really frustrating because I am at a loss of what to do! Do you have any advice? I do TH-cam as well, would you recommend me just focussing on that?
It’s INSANELY frustrating, isn’t it?! Truthfully, I’d recommend focusing your efforts more on TH-cam and giving it a fair shot. At a minimum, making 30 videos to see if it’s something you even enjoy doing. Video creation definitely isn’t for everyone, but it can be really great if you’re passionate about it! 💛
Idk it might be worth researching what kind of watercolors you have because the texture youre speaking of might be just granulating colors. Sometimes the pigment to binder ratio isnt what you like/are looking for. And for having smoother washes of paint you need more water and glaze each layer in and get more comfortable with using flat brushes for that. I see a lot of watercolor artists use round brushes instead of flat head brushes to do glazes and washes and then complain about having streaky brushstrokes 😅😂

6:55 I really love your gouache sketchbook sessions, where you painted different small things like food or the hobbies of Bits and Bubbles. 😊
Awee thank you!! Definitely need to do a few gouache-y sketchbook pages soon 💛

Did you draw on an electronic device? The names failed me as I don’t have one!
Nope, just using traditional mediums for this one 😊💛

Ooo thank you for the tips!! I definitely need to take a closer look at my watercolors 😅
