Ranger main coming here to give yall some tips! Play virtuoso lol, my current main build is countered by that spec and it should beat most power ranger builds. You only talked about two elite skills but the Slb OWP is also super important, if you see that skill on their bar (wolf icon) then you absolutely have to block/evade/interrupt the burst that follows. You can not win trades while the slb has that skill up unless you are cele/have some kind of block or invuln while you can attack. If you are running daze mantra interrupt lb 2 and dodge. If you can reflect lb2, most rangers will dodge to cancel the skill once they realize it is being reflected. You can burst after their dodge. 9:45 smokefield doesnt blind you btw 11:45 lb 5 is not an animation lock, most rangers who are dumb enough to use it out of stealth will just commit to it lol. You can walk/stow out of the animation. Although after watching this vid I will start using it out of stealth to bait bursts... honestly never thought of doing that! 13:55 I believe this was how the old sword worked, they changed it so now s2 is the leap and after the leap is used it will flip into the attack like thief s/d 3. s3 is now a sword swipe that will then roll back and evade. If the swipe hits it will recharge s2. 9:00 W4 can be blocked but you can only block it at like 2/3 of the way through the cast animation which is before the birds come down. This skill is super complex and deserves a long explanation but I want to save space. Edit: dont always expect weapons like s/d or a/w to be used together exclusively, s/w is a very good combo and some cele slb builds use d/w for example. I dont want to make this comment too long, but there are so many things you have to know when fighting ranger, it would literally be an hour long video to talk about everything that you would commonly see/need to avoid on ranger, not even the advanced stuff you rarely see. I would recommend finding a good ranger and asking them in game what you need to do to beat them, because if they are somewhat glassy it will be possible to beat them on any spec if you know the mu and are the better player. If they are tanky, yeah I hate fighting tanky rangers too. Honestly commenting on what was wrong in the video feels weird and rude lol, but its worth it to help the new mes players! Sorry Berry ;-;

And owp is very common on sic em builds and cele builds, so it is very important for people to know so that they do not get rekt instantly! Honestly a good video! I want to see more people make videos on how to beat ranger because the class is hard to counterplay but once you know how to do it you will be able to beat most rangers easily. 7:50 by the way, to elaborate on hammer, the ideal Untamed hammer burst is (start with unleashed smokescale) hammer 5, unleash self, swap to river drake, hammer 2 and f3 (tail swipe), swap weapon, greatsword 2. Hammer 2, greatsword 2, and tail swipe all hit hard, so avoid them as well as hammer 5. And OWP is typically used on Sic Em Soulbeast, combined with longbow 2. So if the Soulbeast haven't used longbow 2 or OWP, keep an interrupt, block (unless they're running unblockable signet), or distortion ready. Reflect distortion is best, interrupt works great if you can land it.
The thing is about hammer is there are so many different ways to 1 shot that you dont need to memorize everything you just need to know what the cc skills are, you can also 1 shot starting in gs too so dont sleep when they arent on hammer! Just learn what the cc skills are and avoid them. But normally an untamed will not go for a "1 shot" if they can not swap to river drake during the combo, as that is a big part of it. Hammer also has a boonrip as well as the pet unleashed f2. There are so many minor details as well, like for example sb4 doesnt bleed you, it gives the pet a buff that will make it bleed on its next 3 attacks. I believe that you can waste the stacks by evading/blocking/blinding just like you can with sharpening stone, but I am not sure. This also matters because depending on the pets condition dmg it will do almost no damage or will do a bit especially because it is a super long bleed. And also when a slb is merged they will get the bleed buff and that is very dangerous. Merging should have been talked about briefly but honestly I think it is a simple concept.
And because why not lets talk about the last elite skill that you may see which is entangle. If hit by it you will be rooted. It cannot be blinded, it has a 600 range but also has a somewhat easy to see animation. The ranger will put their hands above their head and smash down. Now if you are fighting a smart ranger, they will jump when they do it because the jump animation is similar. This does not mean you dodge every time they jump, because I used to condition players into dodging whenever I jumped (in long dueling sessions) and would literally just bait players into dodging so I could burst them. 48s cooldown when traited so it is easy to save an immob specific cleanse for the situation, but sometimes druids will run it to really lock people down. Also the roots will stay there for like 5s even if you get out of them, so dont walk/port back in! Oh yeah and it is unblockable. Also it is unaffected by terrain so even if you are behind a wall or literally in/on a tower or keep it can still hit you. If you are some kind of minion build it is 5 targets so that is relevant to you. The roots also do damage ticks, so if you have resistance or something similar you can walk into the roots to reveal the ranger if they are in stealth, or evade (remember not to block!) them to waste sharpening stone/proc your own evade traits if you have them.

gs4 only removes boons when the projectile that u throw hits ur target. the phantasms gs4 spawns only does dmg so think of it like a two part skill. You throw the greatsword if it hits them (it wasnt dodged,reflected, or blinded) u rip the boons THEN the phantasms come in and do the dmg
