It’s been so long my dream is simply to sleep all night and wake up refreshed enough to take care of myself and my property. Anything more than that is a bonus.
Thanks Toby, im 60 and have had symptoms since my late teens, i think what has helped most is realizing that i do to much, then crash. I have terrible gut problems, ive seen countless people without any results! My diet is better than anyone i know. Anyway im trying to focus on my health moving forward, not my symptoms, and giving myself more rest time, n calming my nervous system. Thank you for all your videos ive found then so helpful. Sending love and best wishes to you ❤ Julie
Sending thoughts Julie it’s a hard road isn’t itxx. I always tried to use a sense of humour. When my daughter was 7 and I was first very ill my teddy also got ME(not sure how I didn’t pass it on), and blimey he didn’t half moan a lot more than me 😁
@@juliewillis2988 sorry Julie I meant Toby, I put a comment up with a question (not the reply I gave to you) but he hasn’t replied and I didn’t know how else to directly contact him.
Toby, this is amazing! Very informative and helpful. Clarity is excellent. I have passed this on to 4 people here in Australia who have been diagnosed with CFS and someone in the US. I am already in your paid program and have found it life- changing. Your generosity and sincerity is astounding. Thank you.
Really helpful because sometimes it’s hard to accept going back to a previous stage (life happens!) It’s nice to hear and be reminded that the essentials are simple and I just have to accept it and take it easier on myself for a week or two, and continue with my boundaries for stressful people and discussions or space out the frequency of them at least. We need to continue reassessing no matter how much progress we made. Thank you 🙏🏼
Thanks Toby and the CFS Health team, these free resources are really helpful. I'm sure a lot of folk with CFS/ME and other chronic health conditions/energy struggles like me appreciate you offering this thoughtful and tested information and advise while we maybe can't afford to subscribe to courses. Defining "areas of progress" really resonated for me as this can all feel jumbled and overwhelming, especially during setbacks and symptom flare ups. What I'm going to take away from this video is to think about those ("physical, emotional, spiritual and cognitive") areas of progress and also try out a daily log, not of symptoms but of activities, food and rest, to see what's working and what isn't (at the moment it seems like one step forward, two steps back). Thanks again, really appreciate you all and the work. Brightest wishes, Iris (UK)

I am a new subscriber as my Daughter has recently been diagnosed. It is at first very hard to stay positive but when you realize that healing comes from within, not from a treatment or procedure although these may help to lessen symptoms, recovery, be it partial or complete, is still something that can be done with time and taking the positive approach to ones healing journey. A positive mindset is key. Thank you.

Thank you Toby. I did the baseline course and it helped me so much! I am now on stage 3/4. Started working out and working a few hours a week. I went on a holiday with my partner last year something that was not an option before i did the baseline course. I wondered how to progress / if i was doing the right thing and this video really helped. Thank you so much!
Thanks so much for this video and all of them in the program !!! This has give me do much hope at statement where I was about to give up. . Best regards to you Toby and all the team !!
Hi Toby thanks for all your encouragement, I got CFS when I was 38 and had some good recovery after about 3 years, although I tended to relapse with a flu or bug or when massively overdoing it. I was however managing the illness better. However when I turned 50 I had a big relapse due to menapause (didn’t know what it was at first), was so weak I had to move to my parents for a while as I couldn’t look after myself. Now 6 years on I am very slowly improving but the regular way of recovery just isn’t working, my symptoms are much worse. Getting a lot of pain and jerking of muscles, when I relax my legs and arms stretch in the air and my head shakes, which actually seems to be my body’s way of alleviating the pain but nothing is going. Still pretty much housebound and can’t drive. Please could we have some stuff on the menapause because the regular method of recovery isn’t working. Thank you, would be interesting to see what you think. PS I know I’ve just given you symptoms but in fact I havent thought about them for years, just accepted them but I’m trying to show you the difference between now and then. Can be fairly amusing to watch my legs shoot in the air!
@@carinjohnson8324 thanks for your reply, I am taking magnesium as I knew it was good in the menapause but will try the bisglycinate form next time thanks, just had a look at it. 👍
Hi, I was diagnosed 25 years ago, recovered by myself, had a relapse, recovered again, then relapsed again with menopause 2 years ago. I did all the things as described in this video to recover but this time it didn’t work. Thinking the menopause might be the additional culprit preventing me recovering, I got myself referred to a gynae specialist as I’d had breast cancer and couldn’t take the usual HRT. He has put me on testosterone and I can’t believe the difference. I’ve gone from stage 2 above to stage 3 within 6 weeks and I’m getting stronger and stronger. I’d done everything to do with diet and resting and meditating and energy and bodywork, mental health, therapy etc that is done before to recover that had previously worked, but until I started the testosterone I had completely stalled. Recommend seeing a gynae specialist and see what they have to say. I am totally a believer in doing everything we can for ourselves as described in the above video, and that really works, but sometimes there is a complicating factor like our hormones that if resolved, really can make a difference.
@@mariebuzz33 hi Marie, that’s great that you are getting stronger and good to know that I’m not doing anything wrong! I’ve been on HRT for 5 years, the progesterone and oestrogen one because I’ve not had cancer. It brought me from being completely helpless to being able to go home and manage myself with help whilst still feeling awful. Gradually I can do more but this is 6 years now and it’s the walking much past my garden or driving that isn’t coming back and Im still housebound. Not sure I’d be able to take testosterone but I can ask as you say. The menapause is definitely the evil culprit! Thanks so much for your replyX
@@mariebuzz33 spoke to doctor who is going to give me a test for testosterone levels in 6 weeks (have just gone from HRT tablets to patches and you have to wait 3 months). If they are low I’d be able to take it too so thank you for telling me!
you have some really helpful stuff here thank you for reminding me its about now and one step at a time moving forward with not needing to do anymore than you can 🙂
I've had this for 6 yrs. Now I can even swim for 40 mins or so. To me, you need to push your limit bit by bit. I started with walking around the house. Then, cycling (with my own pace). But there still are some bad days in a month. Lately I've realised that gut microbiome plays a huge role. I'm focusing on specific probiotics . Hope it lead me to a good result.
Thanks Toby. Good to hear your encouragement again. I've made some good progress and doing more around the house plus out on our farm at times. But still can crash , even after a pleasant afternoon out as I joined a singing group at the Library for a while. I think I'm around stage 3 and slip in and out of it at times. Hopefully getting near the end of Polymyalgia, but wondering if I've got post viral syndrome after having a bad Covid respiratory infection as well. A bit too busy hand rearing 15 goslings inside. It's very tiring even though they're cute. Just needed this talk and others positive experiences so thank you❤
Thank you very much, Toby. This talk just reminded me how important gut health is and I think that is a big part of the problem for me. Could you please make a video about gut health?
I feel like I’m able to do some things in some of the other stages like move around the house, cook some meals but I’m still struggling with some of basics like sleep. So does that mean I’m in stage 1?
