Ice hockey is the toughest sport on earth in terms of what guys willingly play through. Even in MMA or boxing, the doctor ringside will stop the fight provided an injury is grisly enough. During the NHL playoffs you see guys play through some of the goriest shit imaginable - 20 stitches during intermission, back in; get dentures made up post-game, back in next game. For a prettyboy flossy NBA or NFL player these kind of injuries are life-changing season enders!

Toughness is not hiring an off-season trainer with a detailed workout plan and a stopwatch telling you exactly what to do and exactly when to do it, right Duncs? That's the problem with pro athletes nowadays, they are better trained and better nourished but are much much weaker mentally.
