NCL JEWEL Cruise: Best Breakfast in Santa Barbara & Crazy Bike Adventures!!

- We are visiting Santa Barbara, CA for the first time. And we are here as a cruise port on Norwegian Jewel as she repositions from San Diego to Vancouver for the Alaska season. I am loving this itinerary with so many new ports!!
If you are trying to figure out what to do for the day, check out Visit Santa Barbara (santabarbara.com) for ideas. We found more to do than we have time for! First up, we want a local breakfast and coffee and found a great spot, Jeannine’s… so good! Then we picked up a surrey bike from Wheel Fun Rentals. This was great!! We rode along the ocean… it was as fun and a bunch ride!! Next up we walked Stearns Wharf which is the oldest working wharf on the west coast. Here we also visited the Sea Center aquarium.
We did a lot in a little bit of time as we had to be back on board for 2pm. But such a great day!! Back onboard the ship we ended the night with a delicious dinner at Cagney’s Steakhouse.

I loved it when you said it’s ok to skip nighttime activities and go to bed early on a cruise. Because I so agree. That’s the best thing about cruising. Do what you want….when you want….or do nothing at all!! I have no guilt about taking 3 hour naps on sea days. Or staying up until 2am another day. Or staying on the ship and relaxing when in port. All is good! But it takes a few cruises to learn that!

Enjoyed seeing Santa Barbara. The crabcakes looked delicious! The oatmeal perfectly creamy, & the delicious looking croissant looked like it could have been shared between 3 people easily. i think this was a great way to enjoy the best places along the California coast.

There’s a REALLY nice outdoor Spanish Architecture Shopping Plaza on State Street. Also State Street has some really good bars and restaurants. We actually saw Kevin Costner sitting back in the corner at one of the breakfast spots. One of our favorite spots for a weekend getaway!
We would love to go back and see more.
Correction…It was Michael Keaton. With the current release of The Flash I just had a recollection. I remember my husband pointing at him saying “Batman!” as he walked past us on his way out. 😊

It's been a long time since I was in Santa Barbara - but it is difficult to describe what a great place it is to visit! My sister and I took a vacation there and it was so fun! Love to offset my eating with exercise. Not going to go overboard but it's nice to balance and splurge on vacation. I'm looking for a cruise from San Diego, that includes Catalina Island. We were booked on Disney, but that was pre-pandemic and it was canceled. Would love info on a better price point cruise that includes Catalina. Better Price Point = more vacations.

They didn’t do anything in Santa Barbara!
It is a specialty dining restaurant but you get some specialty dining with the Free at Sea.
