Levi did his research on Jozef. Glad to see Levi isn’t stuck in a k hole in a back alley somewhere, he looked in great shape with a great guard. Unfortunately, he has the most risk-averse style I’ve ever seen and it is 99% him sitting around with his knees to his chest. Not super fun to watch but very technically sound
Not superfun to watch? He has no boring matches.
Oh lol, I was expecting Jozef to get the back somehow
Very nice break down. Melbourne Jiujitsu scene represent.
Lesssgo! 🔥
Nice breakdown! Greetings from Brazil.
Holy shit great analysis!
Watched this live in Wales. The escape was wild as well

It certainly isn't the "most insane" but it was technically great.
I didn’t know insane and “butt-scoot” could have an association
@@mathew9851it does
@@mathew9851 Just say you can't pass guard bro
Awesome!!!
great brakdown, subscribed
Welcome aboard!
im a fan now
Thank you sir!
Levi is from Sydney
Does bjj cause a lot of injuries? I want to try it but don't want to destroy my body
Great question! I will address this in a future Q&A video.
BJJ in general has moderate risk of injury depending on a few factors such as your overall fitness, joint health & previous injuries.
Minor, unavoidable injuries are likely to occur regardless of how prepared you are. What we can limit and remove completely, is catastrophic injuries. That is, injuries that will take you >6 months to recover.
To do this:
1. Dont roll 100% especially from standing position with someone 15kg+ above your weight.
2. When first starting BJJ, remove all circumstances of uncontrolled falling body weight.
3. The gym you go to should ban dangerous moves. I.e. jumping closed guard & standing scissor sweeps etc. These moves put your knee in potential jeopardy.
4. Learning safety for all moves, controlled breaking pressure, no spazzing, and having good instructor to instill these good habits into students.
I.e. Not insta-bridging into an armbar, or not doing heel hooks at a white belt level if under 6 months exp.
Nonetheless, these are the risks associated with BJJ, but don't let it deter you, as the journey is much worth the effort!
Thanks for your question,
Ray

This is nice but this is standard not “most insane”
The Escape is much better haha
I agree! Jo Chen fanboy for life.
But but but Jozeph is prodigy…
next year it'll be someone else lol. He's old news already, he probably can't even do a forward roll he lost his marbles
Levi is so boring imo
Stay tuned for Part 2 - Jozef's Back Escape Breakdown.
This isn’t a “Move” it’s an improvisational back take by a high level player who understands bio-mechanics.
That's not improv. That's rdlr to k guard to 70/30 backtake, it is Lachlan's k guard attack system and the whole thing is on his submeta website.
@@BamBam-wh7nt I didn’t know there was an instructional blue print for this. I will opine that, like all advanced sequences, he probably made it up on the fly when plan A and B fell through so he worked his way into what would become plan C using intuition and improvisation based on his bio mechanical knowledge and skill set.. After accomplishing the feat, he reversed engineered the events leading up to the final positioning and established and practiced a step by step method to reach the same conclusion for the next time he anticipates an opponent reacting similarly. I’ve created my own sequenced solutions this way over twenty five years except I’m not an elite anything nor have it documented in any format other than my mind.
@@PauloBerni699 He didn't plan that from start to finish, but every position he was in he had 3-4 advances based on his opponent's reaction to his position. In Lachlan's instructionals, transitioning/advancing to K guard from reverse DLR inversion is one of the K guard entries taught. From K guard, Lachlan's system had 3 main advances, backside 50/50, X guard, or 70/30, and Levi went the 70/30 backtake path based on Jozef's posture. Lachlan is who Levi is training with now I think, and this is a great demonstration of Lachlan's system.
No idea how they came up with it in the first place, it may well have happened as you described.
Thanks for your comment! I included it in my most recent video :)
These guys all have solid understandings of biomechanics for sure - and I think they are at a point where they can go full ecological approach in rolls and still do wizard sh*t.
When analyzing these elite athletes, we need to use 'moves' and 'concepts' to describe the thing happening before our eyes. But you are right to say there is a strong improvisational element.
