Im from Vancouver, Canada. I am also interested in relocating to Dubai as it appears to be a more desirable place to reside, considering all the reasons you provided. After doing the calculations, the advantages of living in Dubai outweigh any potential drawbacks. The only possible downside of Dubai would be the lack of natural surroundings. However, one can always escape to a nature-filled destination during the summer months.

i left and moved to latin america specifically colombia and paraguay. i think dubai is great but not alot of people have 700k to drop on a property. yes dubai is growing but the fact that i cant get citizenship there is a big turnoff versus latin america. latin america you money goes farther plus the amount of beauty you can see is incredible dubai 2040 plan wont work unless they create a path to citizenship for those deciding to move there but happy to see you living life down there i might be in dubai in feb next year for a bit
Wish I could pack up and leave just like you. Best friend also lives in Dubai, I also have been growing every year since 2014. If you’re in real estate it’s great, but in the legal profession, the MENA job market is catered for mid level career people post admission.
Putting the phone on the table to reserve it so real. Haha. 😂 not many places in the world we can do that. I leave everything on my table, including my wallet when i go to the toilet in the coffee shop. Not worried about it. Hahah. Alhamdhulihlaahi.
I tried it out in Dubai. In Dubai Mall I left my wallet on purpose on the table at the coffee shop. I went to the bathroom and returned after 10-15 minutes and it was still there! Unreal. Dubai is very safe, lovely place.
As a fellow Canadian living in Mississauga I hear you on the safety. Going downtown just isn’t the same anymore and people in general don’t value marriage and raising kids and making family a priority it’s all about showing off and the fast life. I’m looking to move as well just not sure how to apply for a work visa I have a paralegal background but I dont practice I work for air Canada now flight attendant and I told my parents I wanna move to UAE. I visited a few times I noticed housing and gas is affordable but clothes makeup and stuff are not which isn’t bad 😂 but as a girly girl and I got my rover stolen last year it’s all scam and they will tax you to breath if they could
For work visa's your employer are usually responsible. First step i would suggest would be to start applying for jobs and secure a position. If you need any more help, feel free to reach out anytime!
I left dubai for Toronto. Can’t compare them at all Toronto is my home and no where in the world is better than home. Dubai is okay for few month or maximum couple of years but after that the heat is unbearable. For people who have options won’t be a place to move permanently. Dubai is a small city so keeping it clean shouldn’t be hard compared to Toronto. I love all parts of my city of Toronto where everyone is Canadian. In dubai people are categorized in different levels 1- Top level - locals and GCC nationals 2- second class- Arabs from all categories 3- second lowest level - Muslim non Arab expats 4- lowest level. non Muslim non Arab expats 5- special categories and this category of citizens are even treated higher than the locals and the GCC and they are the White European/American/canadian/ Australian.
Can you keep your residential home and avoid world tax? What did you do with your residential home In Canada? Did you end up selling it to avoid world tax?
How’s working there? Are they respectful for workers? Are they hustling 24/7 with no work-life balance ? Just asking since I would move there to work :)

Nice succinct explanation. I can echo the quality of life and perception of safety is going down rapidly in and around Toronto.
Thanks for sharing this informative video. I'm currently looking to do the same and have been applying religiously for the past 2 years.
