    Thanks for your video, man. I finally figured out what I was missing after rewatching your video a few times. The process was made much easier for me with the use of a really good spring compressor.

    I had a front end shop replace all four factory shocks, the back two air bags were shot. Bought these on Ebay, had them installed and they ride well but there is a rattling sound like something is loose (there isn't) even over slight bumps. A recheck showed everything was tight, it was suggested that there must be something internal causing the sound, it does it even at 5-10 MPH.

      I’m having the same issue with the rattling. I haven’t changed out the shock yet but I was wondering if you ever found out where it was coming from?

    Subscribed! Thank you for the video. How are these struts holding up?
    Also I see in your comments this is a 4wd or AWD. Which is what I have. My mechanic is worried that we will trigger some dash lights doing this.
    Any advice on this in particular?

      This is my stepmother car... Likely there codes in the suspension or air ride module, I can't confirm. However there AREN'T any codes on the dash.
      I'll do an update in the future whenever I get it back for an oil change

      @@partsshooter Thanks for the reply man! Wanted to followup to see how the conversion is holding up! Did you disconnect the air compressor later by any chance.
      Also was the brand FCS or PRT for the struts. Thanks!

    Thank you for this video. I need to replace the air ride shocks on my LS460. Have you been happy with the quality of the ride with your new shocks? Can you tell me which brand you went with?

      Thanks... This was my mom's car... She brought them from rockauto.com. quality is that of a regular car! It's normal and more satisfying than that noise!😄

    I just ended up having the front air suspension replaced with OEM so $4200 later car is now back to normal. But I will be good for another 100k.

    Good work I hit a pot hole replace front ride heigh sensor steering knuckle and both rear air shocks with air shocks 7800.00 the restaurant insurance paid for it in would have rather kept the money a did a coil over conversion but they paid the dealership directly so when the fronts fail I'll be doing this

    • @partsshooter
      @partsshooter  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those air shocks are crazy high! $7800, would've been a nice amount to keep, I'm sure you could've used the other money to buy all the tools required to assist you and still would've came out happy!
      Thanks!

    fantastic work man, looks good. was it easy to do the rears as well? any dashboard warning lights after installations? cheers

    • @partsshooter
      @partsshooter  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Surprisingly no... No lights. The ride height sensor likely wouldn't detect conditions requiring adjustment is my assumption.
      I'll have to look into the suspension control module next time I get it

  • @canoeshoe
    @canoeshoe 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You didn't get a light? How did you stop your air compressor from running? My understanding is that if the ride height sensor is not changed, then it wont throw a light and won't activate the air compressor?

    • @partsshooter
      @partsshooter  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, I can't say for sure if there "is" or "isn't" a code inside the air suspension module. After replacement, no obvious codes appeared in the ABS or check engine, mainly due to the fact, the air ride doesn't utilized those modules, those modules are the integral ones for driver awareness. So if the light isn't on, you should be fine.
      "Changing the ride height sensor to prevent the light" I think you're referring to a bypass sensor or something related to bypassing, because just changing a level sensor of the same isn't going to keep the pump from activating after replacement or an obvious malfunction light from illuminating.
      I'll just have to post a video with more detail in the future! Thing is, nobody understands technical info here on the internet that well so I try to be basic yet informative.
      Just keep on the lookout and I'll post an update, she brings the car around every few months for an oil change, hope this helps

      @@partsshooter The ride height sensor lets the air suspension know to pump air into the bellows to level the car. If it's out of spec, it should trigger a VSC code since the car is unleveled. I believe with the air to coil conversion kit from strutmasters disclaimed that they have no fix for the light. However, i know a few members on the lexus forums experienced the VSC light and some dont. My gist from research is if the ride height sensor remains the same, then it should not trigger the air compressor to turn on. My plan is to remove the air components entirely including the air compressor. I believe pulling the fuse to the air compressor will trigger a warning light.

    • @partsshooter
      @partsshooter  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@canoeshoe yes, that's how a level sensor operates. And "yes" you remove a fuse you'll get a light, if you disconnect a level sensor you'll get a light. Faults are triggered from feedback discrepancies and you'll cause that when disconnecting things, hence is why I was referring to a "bypass" when you mentioned "replacing level sensors"
      The only thing I can say is "try it", but logically disconnecting things isn't going to accomplish preventing a "light" because of computer logic determining malfunctions.
      If there no codes present before replacement, snap shot the live data for the "air suspension" and compare the after-after conversion kit is installed.
      Good luck with the replacement

    • @canoeshoe
      @canoeshoe 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@partsshooter I cant seem to find a way to remove the air compressor and sensors and prevent the code. I know the air suspension has it's own computer. I know one member said a lexus mechanic was able to disable the light but he didn't say how. =/

    • @partsshooter
      @partsshooter  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@canoeshoe I can't help you, as I had no issues after replacement or lights manifest, Seems you're determined to remove things when when you're aware of this systems operation, I'm very confused here😕.
      Only further advice I know to give you is, resolve the codes that are in the module and inspect the live data within module for operation. Without it, you're working aimlessly. Please get me codes from suspension module...
      Try contacting author of other video, good luck

    So I have a 2010 awd ls460 and I am trying to do this same thing. My c arm that bolts in the bottom of the shock and sets into the control arm has no play and I can’t get it in right/it doesn’t line up :/. I think that’s where you were saying it’s dark and didn’t show that part.

    If you held the car up until now or 2020 you would have made a lot of money on this car.....some made 10K+ dollars on a 2007 version of the car and many with 200K or down to 150K miles are going for 15K dollars or more.... LOL
