These things are the real deal. I own one…and it is absolutely incredible. Besides absolutely nailing the tone, the new master volume design is the best I’ve ever seen. Vintage Marshall JTM 45s have a “feel” when cranked, which usually gets lost when you have to play at lower volumes-even if it’s through an attenuator. George’s design lets you tame the beast while keeping 100% of the tone and feel of the fully cranked amp. It sacrifices nothing, making the amp usable in real world settings. You no longer need a 10,000 seat arena to actually use this amp. Marshall doesn’t built an amp this good…one that truly captures the elusive vintage tone of their own legendary amps-the tone everyone wants. But fortunately, we don’t need them to.
Obviously the amp is incredible. Equally so the playing - tasty and unfussy, brings out the character in these amps. And of course George's guitar face game is on point.
I built a JTM45 using George's Metro-spec transformers and Valvestorm parts. It sounds great. It's too bad that George is unable to provide transformers currently but it does look like he offers a finished version for sale. His stuff does come highly recommended.
The low mids are in a different spot on yours vs the red channel in higher gain settings I preferred the JTM 45 as the mids are shining at a bit higher frequency, but when you turn the gain down to 3.5 your amp shines and the red channel sounds thin in comparison to green really enjoyed the green tone at this setting!
Any differences you or anyone else could possibly hear between these two amps could be accounted for by making slight adjustments in the EQ knobs or even the playing touch/dynamics of the fretting and picking hands. As far as I'm concerned, the amps are identical. To suggest anything else is to split hairs to the nth degree.
Would you say this or the new metroplex is better for zeppelin? I know page preferred the superbass which is why he used it live and on most of the zeppelin albums.
Again sounds excellent -- Everyone Read this -- Metropoulos Amps are the Best I own -- I own great names in AMPS Metropoulos Amps are simply the best -- the Super-Plex is so good -- My live rig goals are coming to fruition !!!!!
Fantastic aesthetic in this video. Rivaling the Marshall channel production. Great job!
Its SO close very slight difference its barely noticeable.... Awesome work George!
I'll bet that was fun! And LOUD!! Sounds great, truly.

Absolutely amazing! Can't wait to hear about an emulated Jtm45/100, i'll be needing one :) You are a wizard sir!
I think that’s what the super-plex is designed to do.
@@the92project Spot on!
Sounding great!! Great work sir!!!
One of them definitely has a little more presence than the other but they are EXTREMELY close. Nice job!
Yes! So great, George. I'm a believer.

Yes yours is more ewwe, JTM 45 is more ahhh using pronunciation to describe tone, pretty darn close!
The GPM is the red channel.

Insane! What???
Loved the GPM. Do these have an option for UK voltage?
Yep. These amps can operate at any voltage Worldwide.
Can I put my jtm small chassis in a big box jmp wood shell?
Are you using pulsonics here or reissue greenbacks, or maybe something else? And what currently is your favorite pulsonic copy?
G12M 75Hz from July '67
@@metroampcom Thanks, I'm guessing there's not any new production speakers that you think do a good job with the old greenback thing?
Are the channels internally jumpered on the original?
Can this amp be ordered with an FX loop?
It includes an FX loop.
👍
Does this model come in the reduced smallbox size like the new Super-Plex and Metro-Plex MK II 50 watt?
Yes, the GPM 45-1796 comes in a small box. The Metro-Plex MK II 50 watt comes in a smaller than small box.
Metro is hair better.
Blasphemy !! My ears !
