    It annoys me that Sam blames Dean for 'stopping' him from closing the gates of hell. All Dean did was ask/beg him to stop the ritual and survive, it was always Sam's choice. You can't even really say that Dean guilt tripped him into stopping, if Sam had gone through with the ritual, he'd have been dead within 5 minutes, so he wouldn't have been feeling guilty for long. And once Sam stopped the ritual, what exactly would have been the upside of Dean letting him die? If that's what Sam wanted Dean to do then he should have carried through with closing the gates. At least then he wouldn't have died for no reason.

      I mean.... Sam was basically almost dead by then, I don't think he would be able to make rational decisions at that point, so real consent is hard to get then. While he is barely hanging on, the person who he loves the most tells him not to do it and he listens. But now he has recovered and basically regained rational thinking, he now understands that sacrificing himself like he wanted to in the first place would've been better and Dean is the reason he didn't do it, because he trusted Dean while he was inebriated. If the ritual didn't slowly destroy his body and brain and instead he just suddenly drops dead after, I'm sure Sam would've followed through and closed the gates. That's part why he's so pissed, Dean basically convinced him to change his mind on a giant decision while Sam was "drunk".
      Though the real reason is obviously that they wanted another season and didn't want closed gates.

      @@MarkusR144 I don't buy that, Sam showed little to no signs of impaired reason, it was his decision, he should take responsibility for it.

      @@MarkusR144 I think Sam is more pissed that Dean didn't accept his decision to die (think about the convo with Death) and then went on to deceive and manipulate him into taking Dean's choice. I get the logic that it would be a shame if he were to die just after having given up the chance to die for a good cause, but Sam has always wished to be left in peace if he were to die.
      Dean didn't just not let Sam die, he did so by taking Sam's free will and deceiving and tricking him. Then kept on having secrets about it.

    Same exact circumstances, I think Sam actually might have let Dean make that choice. He certainly isn't above making seriously questionable choices to save Dean when Dean is fighting to live, or has resigned himself to a fate because he sees no other option, but a fully willing and freely chosen sacrifice to achieve a massive good? I think Sam would have an easier time accepting that than Dean.

    I think the same way about Sam and Dean, Sam is lying to himself, that he would't sacrifice his life for Dean, but is't just not true at all. We saw what happened when Dean made a deal with the devil in season 2 and ended up being in hell, Sam did everything that could to save him, even wanted to open the gates of hell and cause a lot of mess just to get him out of there, and only when he was certain he couldn't save him, he gave up and moved on with his life. He would've done everything if the situation made him to, I'm positive about it

    thank you for agreeing with me that Sam absolutely would do the same thing. all the other reactors i watch are like no he wouldn't and not even getting into what happens after this just look at Faith where Sam really didn't feel guilty that he traded Deans life for another after they found out or all of seasons 3 and 4 where he would have done ANYTHING to save dean. of course he would do whatever it takes to save Dean he is just coloured by his feelings of betrayal right now. and yes stuffing an angel in him was shitty, mostly because he wasn't honest about it afterwards but Gadreel was holding Dean over a barrel. i just wish he talked to Sam more and wasn't so standoffish about it, try and get him to see where he was coming from in a better way. but then he is still reeling from Kevin's death so...

    Did you say Sam would do the same thing under the same circumstances??? What did Sam do last season while Dean was in Purgatory??? He moved on with his life because their past experiences has shown them that it always goes bad when it comes to bringing each other back from the dead or the brink of death. I think you're the one lying to yourself here. You need to accept what is being displayed here on the show. This season is exploring Dean's toxic codependency towards Sam regardless of him having a say on the matter and putting Sam's life on the line. This was hinted before in Season 6 when Dean was trying to get Sam's soul back for Sam, yes Sam needed his soul back but to sacrifice your own brothers well being mentally and physically to make it more convenient for yourself??? No that needs to be addressed.
    Maybe there is more to why Dean wanted Sam to have his soul back, because he feels the need to have control over everything and play the big brother over his little brother and not have Sam be near the title level of a vicious hunter like Dean. Because it would be like Dean is looking at himself, just like how Dean cannot stand to be alone without Sam because he can't even look at himself without having that title of superiority and hero complex over someone in his life. I know this is extreme and hard for you to accept, but this needs to be addressed. Everyone should be held accountable for their actions regardless of your feelings.
    Oh and FYI another reactor pointed out what Sam didn't do while Dean was in Purgatory, so no Sam was not lying to himself. So don't lecture Sam if you can't handle the truth.

      one thing people need to remember is that from a very young age Dean was practically forced to raise Sam by himself when John was always hunting, since he was 4 years old Dean was conditioned to believe that taking care of Sam and raising him was his responsibility and that was his only purpose in life, that Dean's own life had no value outside of just being Sam's protector. Hence why growing up Dean was always putting Sam first, always sacrificing his own life and his own dreams in order to raise and protect him, since he was 4 years old Dean's entire life was revolved around Sam. It's not that Dean has a "hero complex", it's just that he was always told that his own or main priority is to protect Sam and that was his only purpose in life. Because of this reason I don't think Dean even knows how to live his life without Sam, having raised Sam and revolving his entire life around Sam for so long. Was Dean selfish in this case? Yes, but Sam knew about Dean's insecurities and he took advantage of it and basically taunted Dean, after all the sacrifices Dean had made in his life in order to raise & protect Sam his whole life, Sam basically rubbed it in his face and basically told Dean that Sam is more important to Dean than Dean is to Sam, that Dean loves and cares about Sam more than Sam does Dean, that was very cruel of Sam to do to Dean, and it was heartbreaking for Dean to hear. Knowing that his brother whom he loves so much and sacrificed so much and dedicated his whole life to raise and protect, doesn't love him as much as he loves him. And it comes across as Sam being ungrateful to Dean. I'm not saying that Dean hasn't made mistakes and is not selfish in some of his decisions, but Sam is no better either, Sam has made his own mistakes and selfish decisions and has also kept many secrets from Dean too, and there has been times when Sam made decisions for Dean without Dean's consent and without giving Dean any options, and it makes Sam look like a hypocrite.

      @@iamlinda100 Yeah Sam made mistakes too like killing Kevin... Oh no wait that was Gadreel using Sam as a vessel and Sam only said yes because he was tricked into it.... Remind me.... Who else allowed this? ...... Exactly my point, when Dean asked if the circumstances were the same and it was Dean in Sam's place did you even take into consideration what "Same Circumstances" actually means? it means Dean asked if Sam would save Dean out of selfishness at the expense of anyone else's life on the line including their own, did you even take that into consideration? Are you telling me Dean being upset because Sam would not risk innocent lives (literally remind you) to save Dean is justified?

    • @iamlinda100

      @@crymsonvega4854 How about the time Sam tried everything to save Dean from the demon deal even after Dean told him many times to let it go, or his relationship with Ruby? Granted Sam was tricked by Ruby, but he ignored Dean's warnings about Ruby and he chose to trust a demon instead of his own brother and because of Sam's stupid decision he broke the final seal and unleashed Lucifer from his cage and many innocent people died because of Sam's decision, out of the many stupid decisions Sam made, breaking Lucifer free and unleashing him into the world was probably Sam's biggest and worst mistake. Dean wasn't the only one who warned Sam about Ruby, Castiel also warned Sam not to trust Ruby and god himself wanted Sam to stop using his demonic powers, but stupid Sam ignored all of them, Lucifer never would've broken free if Sam had just trusted his own brother & friend. And there was the time when Sam lost his soul and did not tell Dean the truth for over a year, without his soul, soulless Sam had no empathy, no morals and did not care about anyone who would put innocent lives in danger just to get the job done, soulless Sam was a danger to people around him and he wanted to remain soulless. Sam also made Dean believe that he was dead and practically forced Dean to live with Lisa and Ben whom Dean never truly loved, Dean only lived with them out of obligation because he promised Sam he would. Sam wanted Dean to live a normal life but that wasn't what Dean wanted, Dean wanted to be a hunter, but he basically forced Dean to live the life that Sam wanted, not what Dean wanted. It was Dean's own life yet Sam forced his own dreams onto Dean without giving Dean an option. And don't pretend like Sam has never made bad decisions himself, he has, Sam is not "perfect", contrary to what you might believe, he has many flaws himself and has also made stupid decisions that caused the deaths of many innocent people.

      @@iamlinda100 THAT ONLY PROVES MY POINT MORE! Sam learned from his mistakes showing he is willing not to make any more deals to bring back the dead or keep them from dying but Dean does what he told Sam not to do.... Oh Dean is supposed to get a free pass because it's an Angel and not a Demon? If Dean didn't love Lisa and Ben then why was he in pain when he let them go??? You're also contradicting yourself here. You said "Since he was 4 years old Dean was conditioned to believe that taking care of Sam and raising him was his responsibility and that was his only purpose in life, that Dean's own life had no value outside of just being Sam's protector." And now you say Sam forced Dean to have a better life? all of a sudden the programming from his father is disregarded and not the root for how messed up Dean is? Oh did we forget the cosmic disruption of the natural order that Death mentioned?

    • @iamlinda100
      @iamlinda100 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@crymsonvega4854 actually no, considering what Sam did later in the season and the lengths he would go to try and save Dean from the mark of Cain, proves that Sam has not learned his lesson, that he would still risk everything to save Dean. Also I am not contradicting myself, even though he wasn't actually in love with Lisa, but he still cared about Lisa and Ben, that's why he was heartbroken when they were in danger and he had to let them go to protect them, he loved Lisa and Ben and grew to care for them, but he wasn't IN love with her, there's a difference, and he wasn't truly happy with them, he was merely keeping his promise to Sam. And the only reason he went to live with them was because he promised Sam he would, he only lived with them out of obligation to Sam, meaning he lived with them not because he actually wanted to be with Lisa and Ben, he only lived with them because that's what Sam wanted him to do and that Sam made him think he was dead for a whole year. Would Dean have lived with Lisa and Ben if Sam had not forced him to in the first place? No, and if Dean had known that Sam was alive for a whole year then he would have left Lisa and Ben and went back to Sam in a heartbeat. Because Dean's true happiness was always to be with his brother. Which again proves my point that Dean has always prioritised Sam and would do anything to save Sam, protect him, and he did what Sam wanted him to do, Dean's entire life has always revolved around Sam.
