I have the 5 string version.
I can't get a single sound I truly love out of it.

If only the double bucks had come out before I bought my Katana. I just love the tones from that set up.

A very nice looking and sounding bass. Definitely one of my favourites. Wenge is also a good tonewood and maple is just the industry standard for necks. There's no good substitutes to maple for necks.

Why don’t more active basses come with a mid control? The mids are the most important frequencies!

Nope, the Katana came out a year before the double bucks. Then it took a while for them to get I to stores. Honestly I got fixated on the Katana and didn't play much else. Didn't run into a $$ until about 2 years later. Thinking about picking up one now.

    No fret inlays?

inlays are ugly and detract from the natural beauty of wood

Do you guys no longer build Corvettes with 100% bubinga? If so, that's a shame, because I have a 20 year old $$ Corvette, all bubinga and it's the best sounding bass I have

Hi there. At he moment only the Masterbuilt Corvette NT is built out of Bubinga with a Maple neck through. Customshop options do allow all kind of wood combination too if that is something you´d be looking for. Glad to hear the love you have for your "old" Corvette . Hope that helped.

Very good video of the bass sir, that is just become one of my favourite basses of all time just by looking at it.
First of all I have a little knowledge about the electronics on bass guitars, so I have a question, what does "2 way active passive system" means? considering the bass is using passive pickups from humbucker which produces mighty good sound.
and my second question is related to the first one, why does a set of passive pickups need a battery? Can the humbucker passive pickups act as an active pickup as well?
    Thank you kindly

robby tribuwono saksonoIt has passive pickups with an active equalizer (EQ) circuit, which can be switched off for fully-passive mode.

great base Warwick but you will never get away from that Warwick sound. Music Man are the same. Lakland 55-02's however are a different kettle of fish. in a different league.. funny is the fact that the Lakland 55-02 is way cheaper.

That's why I got myself theSterling from MusicMan S.U.B Ray 4 for 368€ and saved a ton of money and got the same MusicMan sound(well 90%) for 1/10th of the "real" MusicMan.Thank God these days you can follow no great basses for less than 500€
