    “Every Ramayana is different, every Mahabharata is different,” says author, columnist and screenwriter Anand Neelakantan. Recounting Indian epics from their antagonists’ perspectives, he crafts striking interpretations of the tales, laying bare a world of immense possibility and inexhaustible retelling. The author of thirteen books, including the famed Bahubali Trilogy, Neelakantan is a storyteller whose diverse tools involve novels, television shows, audio books and films. In this session, Neelakantan, in conversation with Satyarth Nayak, author of the national bestseller, Mahagatha - 100 Tales from the Puranas speaks about the unyielding power of myths and the multitude of stories they carry within.
    Anand Neelakantan is the author of the blockbuster Bahubali trilogy, the prequel to S.S. Rajamouli's movie. He has also written Asura: Tale of the Vanquished and the Ajaya series. Among his other popular works are Vanara, Valmiki's Women, Nala Damayanti, The Very, Extremely, Most Naughty Asura Tales For Kids, and The Tale of the Flying Mountains, to name a few. Neelakantan’s books have been translated into more than fifteen languages, including Indonesian and Burmese. S.S. Rajamouli has announced a mini-series based on Anand's books, on the lines of Game of Thrones. Anand has also written scripts/screenplays for popular TV series like Siya Ke Ram, Ashoka, Mahabali Hanuman, Swaraj, Taj Divided by Blood on Zee 5, Sarfarosh on Netflix among others. He has been a columnist in the New Indian Express for the last seven years.
    Satyarth Nayak is an author and screenwriter based in Mumbai and a former SAARC Award-winning Correspondent with CNN-IBN. Satyarth best-selling biography, Sridevi - The Eternal Screen Goddess met with high acclaim. His debut novel, The Emperor’s Riddles, released in 2014, became a bestselling thriller, earning comparisons with Dan Brown for being a ‘history meets mystery.’ His new book, the magnum-opus Mahagatha, is an epic collection of 100 greatest mythological tales from the Puranas. Satyarth is currently scripting the next instalment of one of Bollywood’s biggest sci-fi film franchises and penning the biography of Shabana Azmi.
