I will always love NB. I have a worn down pair of 1600's that I wear to work every single day that I've had for 6 years. I'm more on their clothes right now. I think Kawhi is also doing them a huge service being with the brand.

The 990 is my favorite sneaker of all time probably. Well maybe not but definitely top 3
I also agree on the pants styling trend is a lot to do with sneaker trend. It seems that jordan 1 low is getting more love, because it fits the look with cropped wide silhouette pants trend. the high cut sneakers are a bit harder to pull off together.
FELIX954 it fits the more casual trend and I love the jordan 1 low got one this year and it’s worth it. Also the lows go on sale compared to the highs
Yo I love new balance period. It's easily my second favorite brand when it comes to athletic brand for footwear. I love the 574xad made in the USA. The suede new balance uses is pig skin and crushing Nike's fake leather

NB has been on fire for the past 3 years. Mr Pierce and his team are doing a fantastic job. At one point I thought they must have a girl in their team because there is a lot more color and more vibrance in their models. To me NB is still top notch and I'm glad whenever I can grab one of their MiUSA or UK models for a good price

Got my first pair this year, 1500.9. Love them and looking for more to add to the collection.. some 990s and 850s. You’re right about putting them next to some airmax, the materials on the Nikes are laughable in comparison

Picked up a pair of Cruz Sockfit shoes from NB very recently for about $40, and the upper is easily as stretchy as an UB and the Fresh Foam midsole is as squishy as UB. Retail is under $100. Crazy value in NB stuff.

Another big factor that killed the retro sneaker "hype" back in like 2013 was that literally every week there was like 2 collabs dropping. There would be times where lets say Concepts would drop their Saucony collab and outta nowhere the next week they suddenly had a new collab with Asics. This happened so much between like the same 6 companies that it got old really quick.

I always thought New Balance collabs, when done right, were some of the best quality shoes out there. Heck, the general release made in the US or UK New Balances are better quality than hype Nike and Jordan releases.

NB kills everybody on quality. Got my first pair of 998's a couple years ago, and I started selling my J's. The materials they use on the usa/uk models are bananas

If new balance doesn't fuck this up, the 850 could be fire. They need to stick with limited releases. The new mono pack is fire. They should continue to tone down those wild color offerings and stick to monochromatic colorways with maybe a small pop of color but keep it subtle.

I’m going back to new balance and vans, Jordan’s and most of these new air max drops aren’t doing it for me anymore. Never got into any of the chunky adidas either

Someday someone will do a review about the lackluster shoe industry.
Nike, Adidas, NB, etc. have been watering down the product for ages but, people still continue to buy there inferior products.
There are better shoes out there.
Sure are “better” shoes… quality wise, comfort wise etc… but half the reason people buy shoes is because of the branding they flash. The product is very watered down, especially when they are chasing a certain price point. But you do have me thinking here… might be a good video

As a devout "shoe connoisseur" I feel it necessary to compare all relevant parts to include price in order to land on a target.
Inclusive of the above, to me, it boils down to comfort.
