Have you tried the Ferla trikes? Haven’t seen as much reviews on theirs and curious how it compares for handling. Would like a trike for stability but read they don’t handle as well as 2 wheelers so curious between these two which might be better.

Does the rain cover (and/or the sun shade if you know) fit in the seat storage? Also, if you do need to take it to a bike shop, how difficult is it to transport?

The cover does not fit in the seat. The cover itself probably does but the hoops don’t. And it would be VERY difficult to transport to a shop unless you have a pickup truck or van and a second adult to help lift.

Its not bad if you are literally replacing a car with it...or cutting WAY back on the amount you are driving. But yeah, if it's just for the occasional joy ride, that's a pretty expensive proposition.
