Yesterday I saw a YT vid posted by a convenience store owner. A drugged out woman was is his store screaming and harassing his checkout clerk. He was telling her "No", "Stop", "That's not okay, please leave." and guess what? She continued screaming incoherent abuse and would not leave until the police arrived to cuff her and take her away.

This is the same solution that schools have when it comes to disciplining students they try to work with them as opposed to actually disciplining them for their misbehavior so that they stop it

I used to work in the homeless environment. I don't kid you when I say I had many a crisis. There are 2 types of people in duress. 1 is completely unfocused, incoherent and violent. The only objective for someone is to find a shelter or a place that you can stay out of reach of the individual or use anything close to you to shield you from the individual. The second class is a person who is very upset but is still able to communicate and then your teachings, with experience, kick in. Calling 3-1-1 for an armed robbery is not a solution. If you are being robbed by an agitated individual, you give him/her what they ask for then you call the police after they leave your business. But if you are in a place that is only about violence you need to focus and use whatever means necessary to shield yourself from his/her reach.
Kat makes such a good move here, (Time index 12:57) as she makes clear HOW STUPID IT IS TO RESPOND IN THIS MANNER. This is just what thieves want, ie. dont call the cops , give me what i want , and i will see you in a day or two for the same...LOL

"Stop" and "that's not okay" are what you tell your toddler. But if a toddler is not taught right and wrong through discipline, it won't work when they are all grow up. Cause & effect, or consequence, is beyond violent criminals.
