Thanks so much for this. Referred to this today as I was installing the snowblower to deal with the first storm of the season when I couldn't quite remember a few details from last year.
Could you tell me the part number for the belt? Mine keeps shredding them! My local dealer put a new one on and I thing it is too short. It takes 2 of us to get it on the pulley.
The spare belt I keep on hand is M174506. It should be tight, but you can help by pulling on the idler arm, stretching the spring. One time I was able to get a wrench on it... or perhaps you can hook a rod on the arm to help. I did struggle, years ago, with the idler pulley arm bending in operation. For a while I thought it was supposed to be bent, but concluded it should be straight. I bent it back, thinking I might weld a brace under if if it bent again, but several years later it's still working fine. So check your pulley alignment and look for anything that could interfere with the belt, like a long bolt sticking through. Once you get it all lined up and tuned it should run just fine. Oh, I have found that the idler bearings go out every few years, so you can plan on replacing the idler wheel when it starts to sing. Next time I'll do a video on that project.
Yes I do! First, make sure the skid plates are both correct. I sat the scraper blade on a metal yard stick and dropped mine to the floor. Second, adjust the big nuts on the drag links which go back to the bottom of those triangle plates. Although it would be surprising if it were really off.
@@cardinalflyer Thanks for the response! The skid plates won't even come close the floor. I know I could adjust the nuts on the drag links. Not sure that would help much. I broke a sheer pin today, looking for that part number now.
This is hands down, the best video for doing this. It's better than John Deere's install video!
Absolutely the BEST video I’ve seen on installing the 44” snowblower! Great explanation to accompany every task you’re doing.
Thank u very much. This was a game changer
Great video. Just ordered the X370 with snow blower. I look forward to watching the video again before next winter. Nice airplane!
Just about time to watch it again! I watch it myself every year as a reminder.

I know that feeling! I do the same just about every year...
You are my go to every year!
I see you in my stats! Watch time on that video jumps up in November. :-) I watch it too every year.
Can’t thank you enough for this
snowblowing your runway with that? Life goals: have house on airpark property with a runway and an airplane, lol.... love it!
Only a little, around the edges! That would be a long time to sit, at 44" per pass. :-)
I use this video every year 👍
Me too!

Great video! I have it saved! Do you know how to adjust the blower? When installed my blower installed it doesn't sit flat. Thanks!
