Becky, you crack me up, some of the comments are hilarious, you'll have to excuse my bloody knickers 'anging up, the chat about the sheep in the bus shelter killed me, they haven't even got a tent...classic. Love your sense of humour, strength of character and stamina, keep at it. Nice feet 🤣, I think you need new boots maybe. I don't know how you walk on those blisters. Take care, see you on the next one 😊
I don’t think I’ll ever be able to tell you how proud I am of you, but honestly you’re built with true grit & determination… one day I hope I’ll be as strong as you ♥️
@Girl Outdoors As a guy who grew up on a hill farm in North Wales, who’s also spent time in remote areas, including where you are, your philosophical sheep monologue amused me greatly. It’s a perfect example of the crazy things that appeal to your mind after days away from the rest of the world, confidant in your own company. The wilderness makes us better humans. Thank you for sharing your journey. Peace 😍🏴
I can’t thank you all enough for such lovely comments you’ve all left! Thank you so much, I’m sorry I could reply to them all. Take care and keep smiling x
Nice there is a forecast in the video 😁, very windy , it could be make your step lightly indeed 🤭. Keep facing the weather with your sweet smiLe 😅 Hopefully you are ok, take care Ms.Becky, don't forget to make video of your healing time at home , thank you so much Dear :)
Becky I know these islands very well as I have been going to the Hebrides all my life as I have family living on North Uist. You done a great job walking and filming this hike. i know how tough the moors are with all the peat bogs, so the fact you managed to keep a smile on your face all the way? just proves to me that you really enjoy being in the great outdoors. keep the videos coming. 😎👍 All the best Glenn.
So enjoyed it. Wow. Thank you. Great job. Great narration, and great humor. You are a delight and of strong and enduring character. I laugh and look in wonder. Thanks again Becky.
I simply love this amazing Channel, so professionally shot and edited, so much passion, and you are amazing. Keep making great adventure videos. Cheers Becky.
Hi Abbie, you are doing great and you are much more positive now! It was a pity weather was poor but to continue is great character building, I perhaps would have camped on the Sunday near the stores for stocking up, you did brill girl. Mark Shaw.
Perfect....your Sponsors have enrolled you in the World Championship Highland Dancing Competition for 2022. Congratulations on completing your 11 day hike, in formidable conditions. Please remember no foot talc permitted at the Championships. Cheers!
The changing weather is like a metaphor for your/ our journey through life….sometimes it is wonderful and life is great and we see beauty in everything.Other times it’s a challenge that calls upon our character to dig deep to overcome. But just like you in this video you just grit your teeth, tell yourself that you can do it,be present in the moment appreciate the moment. And then you rise like a phoenix from the ashes to come out feeling amazing, with a sense of accomplishment and achievement that you can only find in a journey ( whither that’s a physical or mental journey) that you have embarked upon yourself. You are an inspiration to all Becky, for life is for living. Keep up the fantastic work!!😊x
If you're in the Scottish highlands or islands and you have run out of food just find the nearest house got to the door and ask them if there are any shops open where you can stock up on supplies and you will be dragged into the house and force feed until you can't eat anymore lol especially if it's a Sunday. Nobody work on the Sabbath on a Sunday,i worked for calmac ferries and when we were in stornoway a man took a heart attack and the islanders refused to open the airport to let him fly out to the hospital in Glasgow lol. we had to take him by ferry
I returned home to Lewis and Harris a couple of weeks back from Cambridgeshire for the Hebcelt festival. Its absolutely stunnining and every time I have to leave it hurts so much. Glad you had a fab time and loved the Hebridean Way videos and look forward to your next adventure 😃😃😃
... Yet another amazing trek you have done .. A length of nasty weather and wet conditions but your attitude shines and experience will keep you safe .... Are you on a strict schedule ?? When at the town all closed up ,, why not just set up camp and take a day of rest so as to resupply the next day .. Nourishment is important ... These video's will be a thrill to watch in your years to come and see the strong determined young lady step her way through life with sunshine or raging storms ... So Impressive ..
So many congratulations. 15miles a day is great going. Bad luck for running into the Hebridean Sabbath. So excited to be going there in two weeks time.
An epic Becky! Congratulations on finishing the Hebridean Way in such horrendous weather. In that sense, you certainly did experience the two sides to the coin. The scenery in the Western Isles is outstanding and the experience on the wild Atlantic shore is truly expressed as like being on the edge of the world. In reference to Sunday and everything being closed, the northern islands in the Hebrides are predominately 'Wee Free'. The 'Wee Free' was a 19th century breakaway from the presbyterian Kirk of Scotland; a small group who became free of the Kirk and its rules. Adherents are very strict in observing the Sabbath Day as being the Lord's Day. Until recent years, these observations were rigidly applied - no ferries on a Sunday, no flights on a Sunday, no bars open on a Sunday, no hotels open on a Sunday, no swing parks open on a Sunday .... nothing! Even to go out for a walk on a Sunday was frowned upon! There has been a slow change lately but it is not uncommon to find that Sundays are still strictly observed by many. In this respect, you are better off in the southern islands of the Hebrides; South Uist, Eriskay, Barra and Vatersay - they remain Catholic and the folk there are not averse to being able to enjoy themselves on a Sunday - after Mass, of course. Shops are open, pubs are open, as are hotels - altogether, much more relaxed.
Well done for completing your epic achievement. After a few days off grid in our van we called at the Moorcroft campsite hoping to book in for the night as the black tank was nearly full and the fresh water tank nearly empty. Unfortunately they were fully booked but they were really nice and lets us use the toilet block facilities and sort out the water and waste situation. I've since recommended the site to everyone visiting the Outer Hebrides.
What a wonderful journey, breath taking scenery and a Well Done Congratulations on making it so far in 11 days. Always inspiring to watch you accomplish so much. Have a good rest, stay safe and hope to see your next amazing trip.👍
Great series Becks, again! You made me smile, when you were battling the wind etc. I live in the Dales and have lost count of the times the wife and I have burst out laughing, just because the weather is sooo bad it’s comical. There’s nothing else you can do. It’s part of the fun..apparently
Once again, amazing video, thank you. How you come through these adventure, always with a smile on your face is a credit to you. I'd have broken by day three. I actually was swaying in that gale as you came down that Hillside. Loved your Cape Wrath chronicle too, and now you've given us another epic. Great stuff 👍👍
Think I might have said hello to you when me and my pal were over on Barra walking and camping during the Jubilee weekend. We were the two older ladies walking north to south. So glad I found your videos 😀
Excellent video. I admire your perseverance, bravery and good spirits in rough weather. You seemed to navigate the trail without any difficulties. And great drone shots. Was it something heavy to carry? Thanks again and keep on keeping on! You're a hero.
It's been an excellent series Becky. You have shown us great resilience and courage during difficult times and your photography has been wonderful to watch. For blisters I have always carried a small bottle of Friars Balsam. It's a great antiseptic, toughens the skin but stings like all get out on any broken skin. Thanks for taking us with you.
you are extremely inspiring,I started watching you purely by chance last October . I'd never wild camped before so I spent a couple of months buying equipment and my first wild camp was hallin fell in the lakes on Christmas day since then I've spent most of my time outdoors a proper dirtbag and I love it . I start the pennine way next Friday with my little dog and I carnt wait. I've not been happier the simplicity , everything you need in your backpack . I like to think of us as flightless birds and our tents give us wings enabling us to soar on mountain tops . what a life. thank you.
I love watching your adventures! Thank you for taking us along so we can experience it with you. The wind looked mental, you are brave for spending time outdoors in those conditions. Can't wait to see what you get up to next :)
Hi Becks. It looks like you had to draw on all your experience there. Not just physically in those conditions, but also on a mental level which I think some people don't realise how your morale can be like a rollercoaster on these trips. That long abandoned village at 09:43 was very atmospheric, probably dating back to the Highland Clearances. xx
Definitely we were there at the same time although we left Stornoway just as the weather was starting to turn from the heat into the wind and rain so you definitely had a tougher time of it than we did; although cycling into a headwind for days was pretty tough too!
i admire you Rebecca and a bit jealous too, I hope one day you can make the trip the US and hike your favorite state when you're here. Best wishes, always. RT
Just a wonderful video but I now understand it better after just completing the CWT two days ago, my second long distance after the WHW in May. It is thanks to you and others who inspired me. As good as your videos are they do not portray the absolute stunning scenary as it is. Standing in the middle of nowhere surrounded by such magnificent scenary is the only way to experience and truly bathe in its beauty. So everyone seriously consider following in Beckys footsteps. There will come day when you can't and you will regret it. But remember this is a serious undertaking so you need to think carefully if you beleive it is possible and prepare. As for blisters on the CWT over 21 days - Zero! Thanks to Mr. Leuko tape which was applied to all known problem areas.
Thank you for what you do for this broken down ole wolf, Legs. You are absolutely amazing. May at least 4 billion human beans catch what you have my friend. 🐺💜👼✝
That was awesome!! Congratulations!! I get the wet feet . I had 45 days of rain on the northern half of the Appalachian Trail. You brought back a lot of memories of the wet feet, warm tent having to push a bit to get moving . Definitely mental game as well as physical. You inspire others!! Be well and Trail on! Thank you for sharing with us such an inspiring and inspirational journey you get to experience. Beautiful landscapes and as green as you can see. As someone who struggles with a lot of stress lately, this video reminds me to be more present and keep going and making this life special. Thank you for inspiring us. Wishing you the best.
Another top-shelf production! Hope you heal up from that Trenchfoot 2.0 right away! Should be small potatoes after that night you managed to land your X-Wing upright in a bog!
