No Christian has ever gone around finding fault with others' beliefs.

In John 20:28, the nominative form of “Lord” is used, but not the nominative for the vocative as the term for “God” uses in the Greek. In the Koine Greek of the New Testment, the term for Lord, “kyrios,” retained its old Attic (ancient Greek) form for direct address, whereas most nouns did not, including the term for “God.” Thus, John’s wording (using the nominative form “kyrios”) indicates that Thomas’ words were not directed to Jesus personally, although being a response to the realization of Jesus’ resurrection after Jesus spoke to him. If Thomas wished to direct his exclamation to Jesus he would have used “kyree,” the vocative form, but he did not! Thomas was giving praise (a doxology) to God in heaven, as some do even today in normal reverent speech.

The Greek New Testament uses the word stauros for the instrument of Jesus' crucifixion, and it is generally translated as "cross" in religious texts, while also being translated as pillar or tree in Christian contexts.

The word "cross" appears 28 times in the New Testament, (King James Version 1611) and in all cases, it is translated from the Greek word stauros. The original meaning of this word was not "a cross" but "an upright stake."
“Originally Gk. staurós designated a pointed, vertical wooden stake firmly fixed in the ground. Such stakes were commonly used in two ways. They were positioned side by side in rows to form fencing or defensive palisades around settlements, or singly they were set up as instruments of torture on which serious offenders of law were publicly suspended to die or, if already killed, to have their corpses thoroughly dishonoured”. The cross looks like the Taw in Hebrew. A "t" or "+" or "x". Looking at them just by their shape, an "x" looks like a "+" sign in 3-D, at an angle. It's 3-dimensional. The "t" is an elongated "+" sign. Now, the Taw is the "mark of protection" and it was used in the OT. Whoever had this matk, the plus sign, was spared from judgment or dying.
Them using a stake completely ignores the significance of God's mark of protection and Jesus Christ's death. His arms spread out was in the form of a Taw. The Taw means the "last" or "omega". He is the Alpha and Omega. He declared it is finished with outstretched hands in the form of a Taw or plus sign.

My original comment was deleted for some reason.
I mentioned that they've changed the characters for those letters in modern day Hebrew, hiding the potentially prophetic significance of even the letters in the Hebrew alphabet.
Same thing they're doing with the chinese language with simplified chinese. The original chinese characters portray the Biblical account throughout their language, with characters that would seemingly be completely disconnected from what the combined characters might mean, unless they are studied in light of the Biblical account.

@@brotherbob5923 : To make a cross, there has to be some woodwork. It will be illogical to think that the Romans would go to all that trouble just t put someone to death.
There is a prophetic bearing on the way Jesus died.
Deuteronomy 21:22 “If a man commits a sin deserving the sentence of death and he has been put to death and you have hung him on a STAKE, 23 his dead body should not remain all night on the stake. Instead, you should be sure to bury him on that day, because the one hung up is something accursed of God,

    • @NickHawaii
      @NickHawaii 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

The Theological Wordbook of the Old Testament or TWOT points out that the word in all scripture is limited to divine activity.
A Hebrew and English Lexicon of the Old Testament, more commonly known as Brown-Driver-Briggs called the BDB also says always of divine activity.
The New English Bible has this footnote at Joel:2:32: “The Lord’s spirit-the animating force behind the prophets”.
The KJV Companion Bible appendix No. 9, “The Usage of Ruach-Spirit”: “The one root idea running through all the (224) passages is invisible force…Invisible Divine power manifesting itself.”
And as the Genesis 1:2 footnote correctly alerts the reader:
““And . . . active force (spirit).” Heb., weruʹach. Besides being translated “spirit,” ruʹach is also translated “wind” and by other words that denote an invisible active force. See 3:8 ftn, “Breezy part”; 8:1 ftn.”

The Paleo-Hebrew letter 'Tuv' (last letter of their Alphabet) corresponding to out moder letter 'T' - is the image of the classic-cross of Jesus - so Jesus' cross is as old as mankind (6000 years old, dating to 4000 B.C.) and as old as our Alphabet - The letter 'T' = 'Tuv' means the "mark" or "sign-post" or "tree-of-remembrance". The oldest depiction of Jesus' cross is the "Alexamenos graffito" around 200 A.D. What is the meaning of the Greek word stauros?
    a stake
Stauros (σταυρός) is a Greek word for a stake or an implement of capital punishment. The Greek New Testament uses the word stauros for the instrument of Jesus' crucifixion, and it is generally translated as "cross" in religious texts, while also being translated as pillar or tree in Christian contexts.

    On a lighter Note
Many are claiming doomsday. Maybe if we think a little differently we might see that Jesus came to teach His people. Even after He left, He left others here to teach so they might believe and be saved from the destruction of Jerusalem. Why would we think only judgment is in our future?
We are looking at generations that has had their language changed. Many are unschooled, millions who have never heard of Jesus. few even know Jesus. How just is a god who can bring such misery, death, torture, etc. to so many the world over without even giving them a chance?
There are millions who have had no choice in what god to serve, who to serve etc.. How can anyone who has had no choice in whom to serve be killed when it is written that we are to choose in whom to serve, Can we not pray that God send teachers that like Jesus can come and teach us who God is? Can we look forward to the coming of Christ so all understand the God we serve? If we ask, will He not give what we ask? May we ask God to please send us His teachers, preachers anyone, and everyone, that can help all come to know and understand?
Let's get our prayer groups together and let's pray with all our might for God to please have mercy and send us His people who will help us. We might want to fast, do whatever we can to see we all can have hope. If we ask for mercy would He send judgement?

Was Jesus "crucified", being put to death on a cross ? The apostle Paul wrote this: "All those who depend on works of law are under a curse, for it is written (at Deut 27:26): “Cursed is everyone who does not remain in all the things written in the scroll of the Law by doing them.”
"Moreover, it is evident that by (the Mosaic) law no one is declared righteous with God, because “the righteous one will live by reason of faith.”(see Hab 2:4) Now the Law is not based on faith. Rather, “anyone who does these things will live by means of them.”
"Christ purchased us (the Jews in this context), releasing us from the curse of the Law by becoming a curse instead of us (by dying as a Jewish criminal), because it is written (at Deut 21:23): “Accursed is every man hung upon a stake ("stake", Greek xylon, meaning "timber, a stick, club, or tree or other wooden article").”(Gal 3:10-13)
So, what was the corresponding Hebrew word that Paul was using at Galatians 3:13, quoting from Deuteronomy 21:22, 23 ? Here is the reading of Deuteronomy 21:22, 23: "If a man commits a sin deserving the sentence of death and he has been put to death and you have hung him on a stake ("stake", Hebrew 'ets, meaning "tree, wood, timber, plank, stalk, stick"),"
"his dead body should not remain all night on the stake. Instead, you should be sure to bury him on that day, because the one hung up is something accursed of God, and you should not defile your land that Jehovah (see Ex 6:3; Ps 83:18; Isa 12:2; 26:4, KJV) your God is giving you as an inheritance."
Thus, Jesus had to died as an "accursed" one under the Mosaic Law, that required for him to be executed on an 'ets or "a tree, wood, timber" and in which this Hebrew word is found 331 times in the Bible, and means "tree" most of the time (and NEVER "cross"), as at Genesis 1:29; 2:9; Ex 15:25; Lev 23:40; Num 13:20, while at Genesis 40:19, when it came to punishing someone for a crime, it means an upright pole made from a tree, a stake, in which after Pharaoh's chief baker was put to death, he was then hung on it.(Gen 40:22)
At Joshua 10, the five kings who wanted to bring the Gibeonites "back into the fold" because they had "made peace with Israel" (Joshua 10:1), were caught and put to death, so that verses 26 and 27 reads: "Then Joshua struck them and put them to death and hung them on five stakes ("stakes", Hebrew 'ets) and they remained hanging on the stakes until the evening. At sunset Joshua ordered that they be taken down off the stakes and thrown into the cave where they had hidden themselves."
At Esther 5:14, wicked Haman was told by his wife Zeresh to make an 'ets, a stake or upright pole, for Mordecai to be hung on: "Have a stake put up, 50 cubits high (or about 75 feet tall) And in the morning tell the king that Morʹde·cai should be hanged on it. Then go with the king to enjoy yourself at the banquet."
At 1 Kings 6:14, 15, it says that Solomon used 'ets, stakes or timber to build the temple, saying: "Solʹo·mon continued building the house to finish it. He built the inside walls of the house with cedar boards. He paneled the inside walls with timber ("timber", Hebrew 'ets), from the floor of the house up to the rafters of the ceiling, and he overlaid the floor of the house with juniper boards."
At 2 Chronicles 2, the account says that "Solʹo·mon now gave the order to build a house (or the temple) for Jehovah’s name and a house for his kingdom.......Further, Solʹo·mon sent word to Hiʹram the king of Tyre.........Now send me a craftsman who is skilled in working in gold, silver, copper, iron, purple wool, crimson, and blue thread and who knows how to cut engravings. He will work in Judah and in Jerusalem with my skilled craftsmen, whom David my father has provided."
"And send me timbers ("timbers", Hebrew 'ets) of cedar, juniper, and algum from Lebʹa·non, for I well know that your servants are experienced at cutting down the trees ("trees", Hebrew 'ets) of Lebʹa·non. My servants will work along with your servants to prepare for me great quantities of timber ("timber", Hebrew 'ets), for the house that I am to build will be extraordinarily great."(2 Chron 2:1, 3, 7-9)
So, the 'ets that Jesus was executed on, means, NOT a cross, but "a tree, wood, timber", an upright pole on which criminals were hung, for Jesus said: "Truly I say to you that sooner would heaven and earth pass away than for one smallest letter or one stroke of a letter to pass away from the Law until all things take place."(Matt 5:18)
So, the Hebrew word 'ets has the same basic meaning as the Greek word stauros that means "a stake or post" (Matt 10:38; 16:24; 27:32, found 27 times in the Bible), so that with Jesus dying as "accursed" one of the Mosaic Law, he then fulfilled Isaiah 53: "But it was Jehovah’s will to crush him, and he let him become sick."
"If you will present his life as a guilt offering, he will see his offspring, he will prolong his days, and through him the delight of Jehovah will have success.......Because he poured out his life (or "soul", King James Bible; Catholic Douay Version) even to death and was counted among the transgressors;"
"He carried the sin of many people (by dying as "an accursed" one, in which the goat of Azazel (Lev 16:7-10) carried away the sins of the nation of Israel that pictured Jesus sacrifice carrying away the sins for those exercising faith in him, John 3:16; 6:40), and he interceded for the transgressors."(Isa 53:10, 12; see 1 Tim 2:5, 6)

@@tongakhan230 I know what Matt 24:9 says. How does that prove anything that JW is true? Ever hear about the Coptic Christians? Christians in other middle eastern countries? Are you a JW?

@@mywinterapocalypse : The YOU Jesus refers to are his UNITED DISCIPLES. Matthew 24:9.
These cannot be splinter groups who believe various things and occasionally get knocked around.
      Let's connect the prophecies.
(Matthew 24:9) “Then people will hand you over to tribulation and will kill you, and you will be HATED BY ALL THE NATIONS on account of my name.
JWs have been commissioned by God to:
(Matthew 24:14) And this good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to ALL THE NATIONS, and then the end will come.
To be hated BY ALL THE NATIONS, logically Jesus' Disciples must be ACTIVE in all the nations and be INDENTIFIABLE.
Tell me please, which one united group is fulfilling the above two prophecies.

Was Jesus impaled ON THE MODIFIED version or the ORIGINAL version of stauros? JESUS DIED in the ORIGINAL version FOR THE PROPHECIES TO BE FULFILLED IN NUM 21:8-9 AND GAL 3:13. Wonder why it uses A SINGULAR NOUN in Gal 3:13 and number 21:8-9 and NOT plural as the cross HAS MULTIPLE poles put together which is PLURAL. and yes, NUM 21:8-9 is A PROPHECY ABOUT JESUS -SEE John 3:14, 15 And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so the Son of man must be lifted up, 15 so that everyone believing in him may have everlasting life. Xulon does not mean CROSS. It is SINGULAR. It means TRUNK OF TREE , or piece of wood. IT DOESN'T SAY PIECES OF WOOD, or TRUNKS OF TREE.

Sam, it shows a stake in the Roman forms of torture. Some Roman scholars have expressed that the road leading into Rome would have criminals nailed to stakes because it was cheaper to have a pole and not two pieces of wood. It was also been said that using nails were rare because the supply of metal to make nails.

Sam why do you jump to Latin (Catholic manuscripts) when it suits your theology? It's obvious that the Bible was written in Greek. And the Greek manuscripts say Stauros which is the Word Stake. Could it be that where Jesus was crucified three stakes were in the ground not only for Jesus but all criminals to be a public crucifixion. And is it possible that those watching this crucifixion say stake because the cross bar wasn't attached until Jesus was nailed to it and then hoisted up onto the stake making a cross. Would the Romans lay a pre-built cross on the ground and then lay Jesus upon on it then nail his feet and hands?
