Agreed. I'm still upset about the Pathfinder becoming another crossover in the sea of them. However, I'm glad they're putting effort into making it desirable again.
Hold on there cowboy. Not so slick, Pickle Rick. Cool your jets, Ace. Hakuna Matata. With great power, come great responsibility. We don't yet I'd it is good.
@@michaelp.3485 the new Versa, Altima and Sentra are very nice cars that give more features for less money than the competition and feel just as well built. The new Frontier blows the Tacoma out of the water in terms of power, interior quality - time will tell on reliability. The new Rogue looks fantastic. Nissan is starting to bring their lineup into the modern day and they’re doing a pretty good job.
My dad just picked up a Platinum, I'm very impressed with this car. The steering feel is probably the best in this segment, great amount of weight to it and the powertrain is buttery smooth.
Really like the direction Nissan is going. Everything from the new Z car , frontier, even the Sentra is nice. They just need to bring back the SER with the Altima 4cyl and a manual. This pathfinder is a huge leap forward from the previous 2 generations. I’ve owned a few Nissans over the years and I can say at this rate I’ll likely own another as soon as things in the auto industry get a little back to normal. The frontier is VERY tempting
Here’s a perfect example. Just imagine the maxima with a 9speed auto rwd. That damn car would do a complete 180 in its direction and might even surpass the Honda Accord touring in 0-60 and just overall feel.
As someone with a '17 current gen Maxima, I can confirm that the 9spd would be completely revitalize the segment. If they didn't decide to kill it in 2023 and instead gave it the 9spd from the pathfinder and potentially AWD with the VQ35? Camry TRD/Accord Touring killer. Unfortunately with the dawn of EV's I wouldn't be too surprised if the Maxima was brought back as an EV in 5 years time. It's a shame really, because I really love this current gen of Maxima, just wish the CVT was out (although 40mpg highway in a 300hp V6 sedan really isn't all that bad).
Just bought the Nissan Pathfinder Platinum, was difficult finding one in this day and age. I get it in 2 days. Can't wait! The 4WD is called "Intelligent 4WD" so maybe that's why it doesn't feel like a traditional 4x4. My pathfinder doesn't come with the digital odometer display which i'm actually quite happy about.
I’ve had 2 Pathfinders and they were ok, I’m glad to see they kind of went the “Land Rover Discovery” route In looks 😊.. That engine is a proven workhorse, in general not bad at all. I will seriously consider one. Thanks for the vid.
Totally revamped SUV! The 3.5 V6 and new 9 speed transmission is flawless with no CVT! Design and ride is smooth and comfortable. Glad to see the change and it is very positive!
This car looks so beautiful and beautiful yet reserved.best choice for a big family. The price to quality ratio is insane. Best combo is montreal green with peanut butter interior.
We love ours as well! Finally got it after 2 months of waiting. Our second car is a stick shift and I have a hard time adjusting to the way our new pathfinder behaves when we’re at a full stop at traffic lights. It seems to stop the engine and I feel like it will stall for a second but of course it doesn’t 😅 (ours is SL Premium)Thank you for the video!!
Not only do I like the interior more than the Pilot, I like the brown/tan leather color and the other options that Nissan allows in the build. The Pilot gives barely any options, you just have to take what Honda gives you. I feel like I can get the Pathfinder or Frontier spec'd ready to hit some trails with some mountain bikes. I think this has become a serious contender for my next vehicle. I just hope Nissan is as reliable as my Honda has been (utterly perfect, not one issue in 44,000 miles).
POV: You are a husband who is about to sign a $48,090 loan and pay for 20MPG of gas so your wife can take your kids from soccer once a week, drive 5 miles to Walmart, and show off on Facebook.

Got mine in August. Pretty comfortable vehicle, I do enjoy it. Only issue thus far is the top of the A pillars leak, seems to be the drainline from the sunroof. After a dealer visit, no issues. Will have to see next summer when the roof will be open more if it will re occur. Other not so cool item is the passenger front seat is non height adjustable but the driver's is. 🤔
Hey @thetopher.. quick question, since you drove the two... if you had to choose between buying this car and the Durango GT, which one would you personally go with?
i dont like the chime of it but it seems pretty cool, im glad that nissan is slowly getting rid of the cvt transmission i never liked the transmission and had tuns of reliability issues, i hope this 9 speed is reliable
I hope that Nissan uses an interior similar to this for a redesigned Titan. It’s likely that they’ll discontinue that truck in a few years and I’d much rather they redesign it.
Watched another reivew where they discuss this. The seat sense weight, so it won’t throw it forward if there a certain weight, so a kid in the back can’t just press the button with a baby in the car seat.
Nice car, but a nicely optioned SV trim is equally capable with a lot less crap for about $40k. Still not cheap, but makes a lot more sense than this pointless Platinum.
Very good review overall - knowledgeable references but not "I know everything", and does not bash something just to sound like a credible critic (like most do) - however, you gotta spend more than 5 minutes before a video shoot to get familiar with the ADVANCED instrument cluster operation. Review the manual and/or spend 30 minutes or so LEARNING the system and you will not only understand it but you will be amazed. "I don't like this because I don't understand it" - not valid review feedback on the cluster.
the vq35 engine still pulling off wins for nissan i will say they could bump up the new direct injection version to around say 300hp to 320hp and 300ft-lb, but nothing a tune cant handle for the vq platform
Nissan's new design language is a hit. The interior is really good.
Very proud of them.
i heard nissan and hyundai for this matter are trying to make actual improvements and innovation this decade.
Agreed. I'm still upset about the Pathfinder becoming another crossover in the sea of them. However, I'm glad they're putting effort into making it desirable again.
So nice to see them finally drop the CVT in that. The fact that it has a 9 speed auto now is amazing.

Looks way better than the QX80 that costs like 90k and is insanely outdated
Can the pathfinder tow 8500lbs?
QX80 "rivals" the Armada, not Pathfinder
but I do agree it's really outdated
QX60 would be the counterpart to this. But yeah, Infiniti isnt worth the premium price or maintenance cost.

Nissan has fixed the Pathfinder for real, especially with ditching that JATCO CVT.

My aunt used to drive the Pathfinder, but it didn’t have CarPlay. She now drives the 2021 or 2020 Toyota Highlander Platinum Hybrid.
I like how they changed the chime and turn signal sound, they’ve used the same sound since 2001/2002 before the new rouge lol
Honestly if there was a sport version with the 3.0T with 300hp, 1 inch longer, bit more rear row room a bit wider, it would be the perfect SUV.
For digital odometer you can change the layout, you should have mentioned that instead of criticizing it !!
Nissan's redemption.
It for sure needed it! I have a Pathfinder with the cvt transmission...🙄🙄
Newer nissans now have nicer more updated interiors than their luxury brand. Hopefully this will get them to also update their infinity lineup!
