    FYI Shormann algebra 1 is 1 algebra credit and 1/2 geometry. Then you take algebra 2. That gives you the other algebra credit and the other 1/2 credit of geometry.

      Yes, thank you! In our state however...credits are tracked differently. A 1 year course is 2 credits...one semester course is 1 credit. 😊 That's what I was referring to. My apologies if it confused anyone!

Thanks for sharing! Love how u let people know that its ok & a fact that we as homeschoolers can choose to shape it , however we choose & do what works! Thankful that theres no "set" way!

    I think that’s great that your son is working. It is so important that they understand and have good work ethics. As well as how to manage money while they are under your roof. I graduated my oldest from homeschool in 2021 and as a freshman she got a job at a Veterinary Clinic the day she turned 15. She wanted to be a vet tech so we wanted to get her in the field to make sure she liked it. She has amazing work ethics and they recognized her responsibility and maturity and abilities taught her soooo much. She also ran track and was taking a full load of dual enrollment classes. As well as what I had her do too. She is going to a Trade college for Vet Tech and graduates in July. She has a full time job as a vet tech and loves it and is getting married in May!!! My second daughter is graduating this year. My momma heart is full and emotional. My 3rd daughter will graduate next year and then I have more time before my 2 sons graduate. But your doing awesome and I love to watch your videos.

      Yes, algebra 1= 1 algebra 1 credit and .5geometry and algebra 2= 1 algebra 2 credit and .5geometry

      Yes! Thank you for clarifying that Megan! If you completed them as a whole
      (alg 1&2), you would get credit for geometry and both Algebra courses...that's what I was trying to say! 🤪 Without actually taking a seperate geometry course! Regarding the number of credits... our state gives 2 credits for a year course and 1 credit for a semester course...so I understand my credit count may have confused some who live elsewhere. 😅

    My question is what is a credit equal to in your state? The most a high school student is able to earn per year in our state would be between 20-30 for all 4 years of high school. Since each one is about 120-150 hours per subject per year, I can't see how my student would be earning 20 in one year alone? Wow, he could graduate next year as a sophomore then!

    • @SimplyLivingIt
      @SimplyLivingIt  ปีที่แล้ว

      Our state is one of few that track credits differently! Minimum credit hours to graduate is 46. 😊 One credit = 60 hours of instruction. 29 credits come from core subjects alone. It can be confusing to others when sharing high school stuff, so I backed off that a little! 😊 Hope that helps!
