You are 100% correct on describing this '59 Ford. The '59 Fairlane 500 came out in fall of 1958. The Galaxie, square roof, came out in early '59. It was a copy of the square Tbird roof line.
Had the same model and year..even same two tone paint.
Engine was a 352" with a three speed and overdrive..I believe it was originally an automatic transmission mission.
Bought a 427" FE 425 HP with a broken rod and rebuilt it in machine shop.
Installed it and exploded the tranny on first power pull.
Found an entire drag car with a four speed and blowproof bellhousing..competition clutch and pressure plate.
Put the stock steel wheels and full hubcaps with a set of cheater slicks..looked like totally stock..threw a jacket over the four speed shifter with the column linkage dangling..
Passed it off has a stocker when street racing and lied..LOL
Left a 56 Chevy yellow gasser in the dust..327" inch and four speed..fun times!
In the late 60's ----- my older brother had a white 59 ford fairlane 500, 4 door hardtop, (not sedan) I remember driving it several times. It had the 352 V8 with automatic transmission.
My Dad bought one the same color new it was a 2 door poles it had a 352 300hp with 3 speed with overdrive a beautiful car in its day
I use to have one with a 4 barrel cab…am 79 years old now back in the 60s cars were cheap,I also head 60 Chevy,a 56 Chevy,a 49 Chevy,..great memories now I really miss those cars.🚗
I believe the club victoria didn't have the squared top. Galaxie was top of the line. I had one like this in Aqua. You can google 1959 Ford factory adds and see it., Beautiful car!
FACTS.
VERY NICE, DITCH THE CHROME FENDER SKIRTS AND THE CHROME SHADES ON THE HEADLIGHTS.
Totally agree! Ruins the otherwise good looks!
The 1959 Ford line is easily the most beautiful cars ever built.
Ford never referred to this model as a "Fairlane 500 Galaxie", just Galaxie, despite the trunk lid saying "Fairlane 500" on it. The car that WAS advertised as a Fairlane 500 had a different roof and a different rear window.
FACTS.
Wonderful automobile with beautiful lines, chrome and colors! ❤
Grt from Holland 🇱🇺
Beautiful car. My uncle has the same car in mint condition
Very nice, a beauty.
Good collection Ford ❤😂.
The Galaxie came out as an upgraded Fairlane model halfway through the model year. I think the difference on the extrerior was the roof. Mainly, the C piller had that Thunderbird look, as the rest of the Fairlane models had a thinner piller and a wrap around window. In 1960, the Galaxie and Fairlane model lines were separated, but the body style remained the same untill 1962, when the Fairlane was downsized.
Sharp car!
Pretty good for that time.
Good car. Just balance the tearing. Family had a car like that when I was young
I am not a fan of "square" cars, as they tend not to age well, but the '59 Galaxie is a notable exception. It should be noted that Ford was #1 in US sales just 2 years prior. Pristine car!!!
Very nice
That is a beautiful car
I have one but looking for a front windshield and radiator automatic
If it had the T thunderbird engine it would easily be worth a couple hundred thousand or more.
Not sure where you get this? They used to call the 352 engines Thunderbird engines since they put those standard equipment in the T Birds. It might add “some”value but not much. This, one has the 332 which were pretty much the same.
@@craigjorgensen4637 Thunderbird “Special” was a 312 CID
@@diedonner299 Yeah, that’s what I meant. I believed they also called 292’s Thunderbird Spcials.
Nice
It's beautiful man i wish i had the cash 💸 💰
332 engine?
Yea a bit much and quite confusing. Not sure what they were thinking at Ford when they came up with the naming/badging…..
Bargain price for a hardtop
The Galaxie came out a few months after the other models, and looks like they didn't know how well it would be received, so they played it safe. They never referred to it as "Fairlane 500 Galaxie", just Galaxie.
Ford typically did this naming game on new models or upgraded models to the model line. Galaxie was a top of the line upgraded in 59 and a separate model line in 1960. In 1966, it was the Ford Galaxie LTD. In 67, it was the Ford LTD. Later, the Ford LTD Crown Victoria became the Ford Crown Victoria.
gorgeous car, pant pant pant
I believe you might be wrong about this 332 cubic inch I watched the other video about the Ford Fairlane Galaxie 59 and you said 332 cubic inch I didn't know they had 352 but I never heard of a 332 cubic inch I might be wrong
All 59 Fords had a 292 as the base V8, with a 332 and a 352 the optional V8s. PS: Ford never referred to the Galaxie as a "Fairlane 500 Galaxie", just Galaxie. The car they advertised as the Fairlane 500 had a different roof and a different rear window.
They came first with 332 and then 352
Fairlane was tht top of the line Ford,, Galaxy was introduced late 50s, and Galaxy became top of line in 60s, Fairlane was a secondary line, lower than Galaxy.
In 62 Ford introduced the first midsized car,,named it Fairlane 😎 I have one ..
Nice
