No, You need Back country skis which are wider with a metal edge and pattern base. Madshus Epoch is such a ski. It can be used with the NNN BC binding and matching boots.
That's part of the fun, KryptikO! Just laugh and have fun with it... Hopefully you landed on your backside in some deep soft snow alongside the trail. Pick yourself up and go again. It really is beautiful if you can find some nice 'untouched' land to go and explore while you ski. It really seems adventurous as you are out there in the woods all by yourself so far from home with only the deer and the squirrels to witness any falls you might take. :-)
