The runway is on fresh sea ice it melts later in the months February. When landing there is a light coat of snow on the ice it allows traction, the ice is 5 to 7 ft thick . Large cargo C130s C17s land there all the time during the months of oct to Febuary
Ron Hunter Thanks Ron for your kind words! It’s really amazing down there! I think I don’t always realize how privileged I am to be able to fly there. Have a wonderful summer! -Migu
Hard to imagine landing a jet on what’s basically ice, this seems more like Twin Otter territory, maybe drop off the jet in Punta Arenas and take an aircraft capable of STOL the rest of the way? Still, kudos to you on a very skilled landing! And I can see the allure of having a nice pressurized cabin and being able to fly over most weather. 🙂 I guess my heart is just with those old de Havilland (now Viking) workhorses, it’s a sentimental thing. ❤️
+François SUTTER Would you put your own 7x down there. I am sure insurance doesnt even cover down there DWL I am in shock :)

+Peter Bradshaw I guess it is part of the certification ! But you are right, if one day I own a Falcon 7X (nice dream) I will never try to land there :-)
+François SUTTER +Peter Bradshaw Thanks guys for all your comments! I can't go too much in to details, but what I can say is that the flight was not a “jump in to the unknown”. We started the planning more than a year ago and now it all paid off. All the best! Cheers, -Migu
Fantastic video, well edited together as well! I was straining my eyes trying to see the runway on approach, it was only at about 50 I could really make it out. I can't imagine the planning that went into this flight, for such a heavy aircraft! What modifications, if any, had to be made to the aircraft to facilitate this? Or was it just pure pilot skill that kept her straight and true on the ice?
Ahmad Hassan, Thanks Man! Here is another video from our multiple trips down south... th-cam.com/video/20r52YwjeRs/w-d-xo.html Have a great spring and stay safe!
Jesus crist you guys are brave. Does the EVS even work down there to help out in a whiteout and I hardly think the synthetic vision data banks cover that continent.
+Peter Bradshaw Peter, about the EVS. We had it on the lower center screen, but as the outside contrast was really good there was no need to use it. Also the terrain database for the “Synthetic Vision” actually covers also the Antarctica, but off course the runway (which was on ice) is not on the database. All the best! Cheers, -Migu
Thanks for the information. What you guys did was crazily amazing :) I had to look at it multiple times I have seen military transport planes on the ice down there but never a private jet. I remember when they were certifying the 7X they took it way north but this must be some kind of first for general aviation.
Well John l’m super glad that we all have a different taste in music. Thanks for the comment (with few exclamation marks) , that tells a lot about you. 😂

Absolutely beautiful livery, love the green
Thank you Jack! I agree with you, it’s classic and stylish.
Fantastic paintjob on that beauty.
What a great video, thank you for not missing this opportunity to film it.
Thanks a lot for your kind words! I enjoyed filming it more than you can imagine! ;)
+flymigu shared this with a buddy and it just went on our list. Was just 7X shopping this morning then started watching vids and found this one.
"Taxi to the Ramp...give way to Company aircraft"
WORDS NEVER EVER HEARD.
Yes Sir, It’s more like: "Jetflite 99 welcome back, park wherever you want" :)
Excellent landing views really great , thanks for sharing 👌👌👌
Thanks for your comments!
Have a great day!
Awesome video! One of the best I've ever seen . Out in no where land !
Thanks a lot Tony for your kind words! I'm glad you liked it! Have a great day! -Migu

Absoutly Amazing:)
Best private jet video, waww !!!
Thank you very much for your comment! The flight was almost a year ago already, but still feels like yesterday :)
Laurent Coden
Best Private Jet in the World! If you could afford it $58,000,000 USD ...
I prefer no music, less cuts, more footage... but beautiful aircraft.
Well shit we cant have that. I'm gonna get the producer on the phone and get them to redo the whole thing for you
@@lh7801 It's ok L H, calm down ;-)

amazing aircraft the 7X! What was the flight routing to get to Antarctica from Europe?
Christopher Fallon Thanks Christopher! We flew Via Cape Town. And still a good (almost) 6 hours from Cape to the ice : )
Certification for operations on contaminated runways is not useless.
Must have been one dream of a project.
All the best with your Falcons.
Wow... I bet they paid a pretty penny for that fuel...
I wonder if the Plane Needs "Snow Tires"
Dassault mops the floor with Gulfstream, Bombardier, etc!
A class apart - especially the tri-engine configuration
I have to ask how much does jet fuel cost in Antarctica.? Guess if you can foot the $55,000,000 bill for a 7X why worry.
I don't linke french things, except french women and Dassault. #justkidding
Nice video brother.
J aime pas les ricains mais J aime les américaines 😂
Why the music?
Where do they get the fuel from (meaning the base camp)?
By sea...
+flymigu truck it in? pipeline?
+stachowi - First with a ship, then with a "Pisten bully" and a sled. No roads over there... : ) Cheers, Migu
flymigu Thanks!
Fuel is brought down at the end of the season by tanker ship
Did you have to get special permission to do this?
d s Yes indeed. We did a lot of research and calculations of different scenarios to get the special approval from our CAA. Regards, Migu
Just awesome. .
I have never seen a plane count down to 5 on descent.. usually its only upto 10 and then touchdown.
Well now you have ;)
So where in Antarctica did this plane land?
There is a location in degree at the start of the video
Troll Station in Queen Maud Land
Rocking and superb videi
Wow! It's cool, and it must be cold outside.
this is what you call fuckin' sweeeeet!
Very cool.
What is the song in this video please?
We can make the world stop - glitch mob
@@ahart5530 Thanks
That looked fun
Sorry I was commenting on the reno video. My bad
how do they get kerosine over there for refuelling the plane?
You can find the detailed info below on the comments. - by ship :)
Apparently Finland makes airplanes like they make tires: Winter is always a possibility.
Stunning! Dassault leads, others follow. Btw, that windsock has seen some antarctic gusts hey? Hahahaha Very nice video 👍🏻
Frans Badenhorst Hey Frans, you are right about everything! 😊 thanks for your comments! Cheers, -Migu
Where in Antarctica is this airport? How is he called? Is it OOO-AT27?:)
And how is the song called?:D
Troll Station in Queen Maud Land. Search for it in Google Maps, and you can follow the traverse north from the station up to the Ice Runway
You rock!
Was it a simulator or real?
Ahmad Hassan, Very real indeed.
@@flymigu woah! Then its amazing man. I will search about Antarctica now. Thanks Flymigu❤️

Great video but horrible music
Luckily we all don't have the same music taste :) what a boring world would that be. I'm glad you liked the visuals.
Ok it did low passes and some turns....so what?
Thanks for your comment. It's probably more the remote destination and the runway made of ice, that makes it interesting. Not the turns ;)

stupid Music destroyed the Video . How about Natural sound !!!!!!!!!!!!
