What makes this the best version on youtube ironically theirs no animation the still Grimm faces of predator & prey. triumphant & the doomed is absolutely absorbed by u & i the viewer. It also teached a very real lesson not only can evil win but it can incredibly & totally win. Let that sink in & be deeply contemplated in secret. MORBIDLY DELICIOUS

some of these newer animations just can't convey the morbidness of this story.

I'm so glad I found this! We watched this in 8th grade English, but the VHS was so crappy and the tracking on the television was probably way off. So a room full of 13 year olds couldn't understand anything they were saying except someone yelling "AMONTILLADO" every so often. The substitute got frustrated that no one could answer any questions that he made us watch the whole video over again. I crack up every time I think about it.

These Edgar Allen Poe animations from my high school years were really neat. (although the "Telltale Heart" one was made quite awhile before I was born....) I was totally insane for Poe. I don't know why. In schools we had to read and memorize Poe in K-5. . Interesting. Californian public schools....

I'm 86 now, but when I was a t secondary school in Edinburgh, we had an amazing English teacher. His name, Mr Hendry. The school, Norton Park. Right beside Hibernian Football ground. If you were well ahead with your studies, Mr Hendry would read the class a story instead of work. He was gifted, could talk multiple voices. One of the stories he told us was this tale by "Poe". Brings back fond memories.❤❤❤❤❤
