Agreed - it was a really really nice day with awesome conditions to ski that couloir. I also love La Grave!

Hi! Amazing! In your opinion what will be the order from easy-difficult between the 3 Triffides 2-1-3?

From what I recall, Trifides 1 is the easiest, although the entrance can be a bit sketchy. Trifides 0 (before 1) was challenging, and then you have to make sure to ski out over into 1 before the band of cliffs below. 2 was definitely the most challenging as there was a mandatory side slip in the middle over a fairly large rock. 3 is not regularly skied as it ends in a 30 ft cliff.

Serious avalanche terrain. Did you dig pits? Carry beacons? Have an English avy forecast?

Lead skier in the group is a local guide from Skier's Lodge in La Grave. All members of the group equipped with beacons and avalanche rescue gear.

And all the guides at the lodge who are skiing each day (there are usually four of them) coordinate on avalanche forecasts. Our group was pretty advanced though with all of us having extensive off piste experience and one of the members was a professional ski patroller as well.
