Hi Robert, haha thanks for the comment. I am heading to Tignes next week and I will be posting some videos hope it makes you excited not jealous. Enjoy your trip 👍
Nice run! I struggle to get anywhere near 100kph, as I'm usually wearing a summit jacket over my windstopper, which creates far too much resistance to go that fast. I used to ski Val d'Isere at least once a season, which has some decent runs from the top of the glacier, though haven't been to France since the start of the pandemic. One of my favourite runs is in Ischgl, Austria, which is 11km, top to bottom, with a good mix of black and reds, including some mogul and off-piste options. There are longer runs (17k), where you can ski into Switzerland, though much of it's quite flat and it can get very busy with duty free shoppers. The main thing that stands out for me when comparing France with Austria is that the best Austrian resorts have better lifts than most of the resorts in France and it tends to be a bit cheaper too. Incidentally, and without wanting to seem too critical, some of the shots where your shadow appears suggests you occasionally use too much upper body in your turns, which reduces your control over the skis, and although you are clearly an inter-advanced skiier, you could give a tiny bit more consideration to other skiiers, as even at 30mph, if one of them turns into you you're going to hurt them. Just saying!
@@davidkovacs5432 Yes, the fact that you can still do all-inclusive chalet deals does make France a bit cheaper, especially as many of the old-style guesthouses in the best Austrian resorts, which used to be excellent value for the money, have now been turned into 'boutique hotels'. If you're skiing at either end of the season there aren't that many good options that are snow sure, so Solden was always our first trip of the year, usually in late November. Dec-Jan in Ischgl, or maybe Val d'Isere or Meribel if Ischgl was booked up, which started to happen when the rich Russians discovered the place. They'd book up all the best hotels and there'd be a trickle down effect, with even the most basic hotels charging premium rates. Though Ischgl is still hard to beat for a last hurrah at the end of the season.

Impressive... I would have been forced to stay and relax my legs at least 5 times during that run... I tried the supposed longest run in Europe in Chamonix with at 22 km length and 2808m drop in alitude just for the experience of it. That was quite OK, but this run seems to be a lot more fun...

As I remember you were unlucky to be in Soelden in the lockdown time last year, and many runs were closed to try the longest descent in Soelden. I think the longest descent in Soelden is more interesting. One question. How long time your GoPro 10 accumulator worked in the cold and at what temperature? Do you have Enduro accumulator? Besides my Sony XDR 3000, I used GoPro 10 this year as well having regular accumulator and sometimes it did not want to work even at about minus 7-8 degree.
Hey! I would love to try the long decent in Soelden. I just use the normal battery's but I keep them in my pocket and until I need to use them so they stay warm. When you start the GoPro make sure you obtain GPS signal then start the recording. I use 4k 60fps when it starts recording it tends to be fine as the heat generated by the camera keeps the battery warm enough to work at much lower temperatures.

Nice video! Makes me ache for the coming ski vacation. You have really nice edge control so it pains me to watch you lead with shoulders and ski with sloppy sticks :D I think you would feel the difference in your carve as well ;) enjoy the season and thanks for all the nice runs you upload!!
Enjoyed your videos so much! Really nice work! The first part of the piste seems quite suitable for me to practise those carved turns. Have been looking for wide piste with moderate gradient which are not too crowded. Any recommendations in terms of resort/piste?
Hi Yu Him Law, Thanks for your complement. I would recommend Alpe D'Huez because it has a really large bowl of easy runs just abouve the resort. As you go up the mountain the gradient of the runs tends to get steeper. This is the opposite to les Deux Alpes I think it makes it easier to learn.
It’s my second season skiing and I’m really stuck with getting my parallel turns down and learning how to carve, I still go into a pizza often and I cannot smoothly go into short turns/long turns. Any advice would be much appreciated from a veteran skier like you!
I'm not an instructor but I have met alot off people with similar skiing issues. I would say confidence in skiing is the most important thing when learning. Going from pizza to parallel it's going to be easier on a slightly steeper slop. All the best
I am not sure if it translates, but one person gave me a tip for inline turning on skates (which I presume is very similar to a parallel turn on skis) that really helped me in learning how to turn better. They told me to bend my ankle towards the direction I want to go with the leading foot, then commit and lean into it some, and the following foot will naturally fall into place. It's all pretty difficult to explain with this kind of stuff. >.< I think that with stuff like this, the only way to truly understand is to experience it yourself haha. So keep practicing!
Awesome recordings, but you ride too dangerously against other people. Please keep more distance, don't assume things you can't see (what's behind this or that).

gonna go there in 6 days i cant wait and cant stop thinking about it havent been skieng in 2 years now because of covid
Hope you have a great time!
@@Alexskiing thanks
Super satisfaisant et relaxant à regarder, merci :)
Merci beaucoup pour votre commentaire :)
haha, using slipstream on slow parts. absolutely love it
How long does it take to get to the top?
About 40 miniutes but they are putting in a new lift!
How would I find that run? Does it have a name / number, I would love to try it.
You can basically get the les deux piste map and track the way from the top to the very bottom!
Congrats, in this video you are about 1 mph faster than I've ever been
Great Video wish i was there keep up the good work :)
Hi Bee33 thanks for the comment really appreciate the encouragement!
Bon tu veux dire qu'aux 2Alpes y'a que des shuss quoi ..?
Bon sinon faut reconnaître qu'il y a de belles lignes de freeride
Enjoyed your videos so much! Really nice work! The first part of the piste seems quite suitable for me to practise those carved turns. Have been looking for wide piste with moderate gradient which are not too crowded. Any recommendations in terms of resort/piste?
Hi Yu Him Law, Thanks for your complement. I would recommend Alpe D'Huez because it has a really large bowl of easy runs just abouve the resort. As you go up the mountain the gradient of the runs tends to get steeper. This is the opposite to les Deux Alpes I think it makes it easier to learn.
woah! That looks really fun. I would love to go there if I got the chance!
This is the jandri run or am I going insane?
It is indeed and it’s been upgraded this year
@ wait what……
It’s my second season skiing and I’m really stuck with getting my parallel turns down and learning how to carve, I still go into a pizza often and I cannot smoothly go into short turns/long turns.
Nice video and skiing although I have to remark on how close you get to others.
Awesome recordings, but you ride too dangerously against other people. Please keep more distance, don't assume things you can't see (what's behind this or that).
wooow where is this place ?? and the name of the slope plz
Les Deux Alpes its a few runs linked together follow the piste map from the top to the bottom!
Scary fast, and at 3:32 you almost hit that sign.
Haha it does look close on camera!
Ah man I miss skiing so much. Soon.
Awesome drift at 14:54!
Looks like its changed a lot ( for the better ) since i skied there back in the 90s,
Hi Jim yes it definitely has changed for the better!
hi how is it activated Gopro telemetry overlay
My question is: How much time does it take to get to the top again?
25/30min. It's all modern high speed chairlift to the top.
where is the part where you get 100 km/h
What’s the app called that shows speed and altitude
goprotelemetary!
Great video and run, Alex. Were you using a helmet or chest mount? Thank you!
Thanks so much and sorry for the late reply I had a year off TH-cam. It’s a head cam
amazing, ty for this video 😊😊
The slopes near me are all fouled up with snowboarders sitting down vaping and talking about how gnarley and epic they are.
Haha I sometimes speek to snowboarders don’t tell anyone.
Nice content! Keep up the good work
Hi Mark thanks for the comment really appreciate the encouragement!
