Thanks for the explanation! I really like this format of video, as these tips are so much easier to remember than an entire basic strategy chart for a beginner like me!

Good video once more. Question about the gutshot strategy adjustment. I don’t understand why it’s considered to hold in DDB vs JoB when both pay the same. Maybe to try to help offset the lower paying two pair? This is bothering me when I get suited connectors in it. Ex 9 10 (Q K hearts). Normally I hold QK but the adjustment suggests hold the gutshot. Thanks in advance.

Which hands do you hold just the aces instead of a stright/flush draws?

thanks for the continued great info. once in a while to was great to get the 4A & kicker, get $500 playing at the .25 level. then go back to 8/5 BP and continue getting the comp drinks. have a great week.😃

If playing DDB, if you get dealt 2 pair one of those pair is face card (K, Q, J), and the other is something 2-10,should you just hold the 2 face cards to play for the 4 of a kind? Or play for full house?

@@dominez702 You still hold both pairs in this case.

@@ClubMikeV thank you sir. I normally play 8/5 (or 7/5 cause it's all I can find) bonus poker and I'll switch to DDB if I get some nice hands, so just wanted to know the optimal strategy, great video loved those tips about the Aces.

Disagree! With a pair of Jacks or better, you get a free run at getting 3 of a kind, 15 credits, or 4 of a kind, 400 credits. Why not take advantage of the free run at more money?

@@JK-ks3xq The most optimal play is always going to be whichever has the highest long-term expected value (EV), which is determined by the probability and payoff of the hand in question.
In the case of Double Double Bonus, let's say you are dealt QQ885. If you hold the two pair, the EV is about 8.4 credits. If you hold the pair of queens, the EV is about 7.2 credits. 8.4 > 7.2, so the best play is to hold the two pair. Holding the queens will lose you 1.2 credits extra in the long run each time you are dealt a 2 pair with at least 1 of those pairs being Ks, Qs, or Js.
Now if the game you are playing gives you increased payoffs on 4 of a kind compared to the typical DDB pay table, then the optimal strategy can change. An example of such a game is Wheel Poker, where you get to spin the wheel for bonus credits whenever you get a 4 of a kind, which is awarded on top of the normal 4 of a kind payoffs for DDB. In this case, the optimal strategy is to hold only the high pair.

@@ClubMikeV...Thank you for the well stated explanation. I knew there was a slight edge to holding the 2 pair. Just didn't know how much of one. You made it clear to me. Thanks again. Best of luck to you!

I really don't understand video poker. I have heard serious players say Deuces Wild is the hardest game to play, and you don't know what you don't know if you don't know what you're doing. It seems to me that it would be pretty easy. What do you think?

@@sunnyscott4876 I don’t consider deuces wild to be the hardest game. Strategy is certainly different though. The strategy for the 2 pair or better version of Joker Poker I think is harder to master.
