We're Eric & Allison and we're on a journey to find the most interesting places and unique foods this planet has to offer! We've traded in our steady paychecks and permanent home for a life of travel and adventure. Come along and see the world with us!
If the plans didn't change the adventures wouldn't be endless ❤
💯 correct
Regarding the camper door......the good news is that the Arkansas cabin no longer has a ghost.
We are native Texans and are moving, likely to CO. Texas property taxes are murder on any budget and its just gotten too hot along with all the water shortages in the Austin area.
Other viewers and I have asked this question several times, but we have never received an answer from you. What was the arrangement that you have/had when you got the Black Series trailer? Did you purchase it, or is/was it a loaner from a dealer or the manufacturer? I have this question because you made a number of renovations to the unit that would not have likely been done if you didn't own it or had otherwise gotten permission from the owner. Please respond to this question. Thank you!
yes this!
DON'T DO IT! It's hot down here in Texas right now! Dang too late, yer already here! It's fixin to cost us a lot of money on new tires because we drove through the hills in 109 degrees.... now we're wobbling around until I can afford a full set of tires for our Winnebago....
Allison: We have to book it to Missouri and it's an 11 hour drive.
Also Allison: We're stopping at the Spam museum! 😂
(P. S. I love that crochet top with the flowers)
You're driving to Texas during an apocalyptic heatwave? Godbless your innocent little souls. 😄❤
Yep!
It’s 🥵🥵Today! 104 temp with heat index 106 right now at 2:05pm on July 18, 2023!!
It’s summer. It’s hot in summer stop falling for the medias fear mongering.
@@mscattale it’s the middle of summer.
@@joshuasprinkles3490 🤣 Serious bro!? Are you honestly telling me there's no difference between a Summer in Minnesota and Summer in Texas??
118 heat index in tx, sooooooooo y’all enjoy, NOT!
I don't know why you're heading to Texas yet, but you better get Chuck the Truck inspected while you're down there!
North Carolina, especially the Piedmont (middle) and western side. Or, eastern Tennessee, currently a booming area but still affordable. We live on the Plateau and have temps in the 80s in summer. Been smuggy the last week or so, but that won't last long. Then we get a lonnnng fall and relatively mild (maybe one or two snows) winter before March brings spring.
We have 30 years in this part of the country to testify to the life.
Tennessee is redder than North Carolina, but not as red as Texas.
YES! World's largest frying pan! Love those weird stops. And that house is totally haunted but not good haunted. Here's hoping you find something you love!
I was in Mount Pleasant Texas in 1980 on a Tour of the US. I was one of 3 Irish Dancers traveling for three months. We did 29 states 62 concerts with an Orchestra of 90 musicians. The tour took a eleven and a half weeks. Hugs to you both as always and a prayer for your mom Eric. 😺😺🍀🍀🇮🇪🇮🇪💚💚😺😺🍀🍀
🇿🇦♥️♥️
I live in Texas and wish I could run to a cooler climate or at least a pool of ice. Not sure I would voluntarily come here right now 😂🥵
Bless your hearts - going to Texas, by choice, during a brutal heatwave. I’ll light a candle for you both 😂
🤣🤣
Leaving North heading south in July. Brilliant. Hope your ac is working . Good luck.
note to self… always throw the deadbolt lock on trailer door prior to departure 😁
Here in the UK spam is a very much a food of a certain generation. My suspicion is it was introduced here during the food shortages and rationing of WW2 and rationing remained until long after the war. It was very much a staple food of old people, though many of that generation are dying off now. Weirdly, I never really thought of it as a food from the US.
It's a food for the elderly here, too--and I suspect for the same reasons.
In Hawaii, you can get it at McDonalds.
I live in San Diego and have 5 acres if you ever need a place to keep Clementine you can keep her here for free
That was a coincidence, munching on a Spam, cheese and tomato sandwich as I started to watch this, our Spam is made under licence for Hormel in the Netherlands although this was a supermarket own brand made in the same factory. You should get a padlock and hasp fitted to the door as extra security for it and peace of mind.
Edit, Hope it's not too hot for you in Texas during this heatwave affecting half the planet, well almost half, some of us are getting heavily rained on as wrong (or right) side of the Jetstream.
We totally understand about changing plans mid trip, we do it all the time. That's the fun thing about traveling full time!
We live in north Texas, today it has been 110 degrees and the forecast shows the same. The whole state of Texas is hotter than a firecracker, just fyi. Your 7.3 PSD is a great engine, only 87K miles, wow, nice truck!
😂 "The Beans" showcased that little hidden gem (ie The Spam Museum) during one of their US road trip vids too! I mean, it's so quirky & random how can you not stop and have a 👀 😉😄
This is the way we travel…..taking back roads…stopping at all small town attractions! The greatest thing is eating local cuisine! Love your haircut, Eric!
I like Eric’s Haircut 😍
I LOVE your crocheted halter top with the sunflowers. Too cute!
Love that you went to the spam museum, we are here in the UK and in our office we had a tin of spam that we called Pam and anyone who went on holiday took it and took photos of the Pam adventures. Thought you would like that. Happy adventures you cool dudes ❤😂
I love your truck. The older fords are the best looking I think. It is easy to see that you have taken care of it. 😊😊
Penn Yan, NY has the largest Buckwheat pancake made in a 28' diameter skillet, which is mounted to the side of the mill that still makes buckwheat flour. Birkett Mills.
Interesting episode. I like to speculate about where I would live in the US if I was a young man again. Colorado is right up there, the landscape - particularly the mountains, the seasons, the proximity to interesting states like Arizona, Utah, Nevada and so on. The southern states are characterful but they're also hot and getting hotter! On a different note, Spam is great when fried and a good alternative to bacon when you're on the road or when your fridge breaks down. Cheers!
I lived in San Antonio and Austin. Had a house with a couple of acres. When I used the riding mower I would run over snakes like crazy. Tons of cut up snake pieces. Ewww. Then my five year old stepped in a fire ant hill, 59 bite on each leg. I couldn’t take my eyes off my kids for a second in Texas. But beautiful it is.
I had a cassette player in my Bedford Bambi campervan. I got a cassette adapter for about £4 and you can plug it into your headphone jack on your phone. Audible through the truck speakers. Wishing you safe travels xx
You should look in Kingman, Az. for your first home. Land is relatively cheap and there are a lot of off grid properties too!
Good luck with the house hunting. My wife and I are doing it too! Some new developments and growth near Yosemite National Park. If things don't pan out in Texas, you should check this area out!
best way to eat spam..slice 5/16 thick. sprinkle brown sugar and a little pepper on it ..bake @400 til caramelized...so good..i am currently in the middle of reading the storyteller its funny you mentioned it in the video..also allison, i thought you saying "back to doin the dang thing" and the look on your face saying it was perfect for the moment and says it all
There is a heck of a fixer upper, up here in Evergreen Colorado. Went and took a look its really incredible, minus needing water and sewer run in!
Dont worry Eric, Come As You Are started playing in my head automatically after you popped in the cassette. 😂
I'll have to listen to some Nirvana now to get the Monty Python Spam Song out of my head. Thanks for that Eric and Allison 🤨😁
SPAM SPAM SPAM...did that help?😂
@@olbird7647 😁
Woohoo the scratch map is back! You've actually made pretty good progress and are probably around halfway through
I'm at the start of the video I already know it's going to be great as they always are from the very beginning 7 years ago I think have you ever had somebody try to take off with your camera as you did shots as you were walking away
Love that you randomly decided to stop at the spam museum 🤣 cool place though! Have fun looking at houses, am sure the right one will come along for you guys eventually
Looks like you will be passing through Paris and Athens on your way south. Nice route.
I support your decision to live in Texas and to be in the sunshine, indulging in all the tacos. Good luck friends!
Funny for some reason I always thought spam was a British thing. When I was young I used to love Spam Fritters from the Fish and Chip shop.
I was going to say just that. Definitely something I grew up with! WWII made it a world-wide lifesaver
American soldiers spread Spam all over the world during WWII. I think everyone has memories of it. But it’s most popular in the Pacific islands.
IT may be simple and easy to do, but that "MINNESOTA" reveal in the first few seconds is dashed effective. We also have Spam in the UK.
“Doing the dang thing.” I ❤️ Alison.
Good luck with your adventures. While you all love Texas, I have zero interest in Texas, so I'll maybe check you out again sometime later when you're back out on the road and heading somewhere new again.
Hey Eric. Finally, good haircut.
That house was terrifying 😂
Yesterday Northern California near Yosemite the temperature was 2 degrees hotter than New Braunfels, Texas. Of course we didn’t have the same heat index as Texas. We thought it would be cooler here than home in Texas. Not so.
Love Love love your crocheted halter top!!! ❤❤❤
I'm not American but I have always wanted to take a long road trip and go to all those road side attractions. All those "world's largest" things.
Love love, love your videos, and for sure, your music from one country girl to another ❤❤❤ o and I love your crochet top it's beautiful 😍
I hope you are gone before heat was bad. Safe travels.
You are quite the likeable couple. Hope things go well for you in Texas.
Colorado is the place to be!!
Did anyone eles notice the Glow Worm doll in the crawl space of the house @ 15:10?
I have had audiable for a few years, love it
Love how you guys are all over the place! You are definitely not predictable and that keeps us watching! 😀
That is the creepiest house I’ve ever seen. 😆 There’s the door from The Shining, windows dripping blood like Amityville Horror, and dolls living in your crawl space. All signs to Run!
Awww, Congratulations ❤
Wishing you a smooth ride!🤙🏼
Thank you for the update video & keep up the great work 👍🏻
Bless your hearts! We’re having a heatwave! If you like triple digit temps, come on down!
enjoy all your videos. Love the travels and wonderful spots to see. Take care.
Fun video guys. Thanks for sharing 🥰🥰
You guys are incredible.
Handsome! Eric, the new haircut is great! Allison, I love your hair, especially the color.
Eric, how many times did you hear that you look like the Cowboy aka (Sheriff) "Woody" in Toy Story with that hat on? Allison, you handle that truck and camper very well! But where was your hat?
Eric struck gold .
WOW! That is a low mile Powerstroke for the year, what a great find! I just love the cackle sound those first generations make at idle no matter how noisy it is. A little routine maintenance and it will last a long time. And none of the crap the newer diesels have. Enjoyed the adventure👍
Never seen an rv door open that way. Strange, they usually open so the wind will close it when driving it it's not shut correctly.
Wish I had known you were going to Austin. My niece lives there and is an executive at Hormel. You would get along great with her as she and her husband love to pub crawl.
Great channel. There is one thing you need. I get dizzy from the jerky camera. Consider an image stabilizing gimbal.
Cracking up when I saw your cassette storage drawer. I had a few of those...back in the day. Talk about vintage! 😂
I love Texas. We really thought we might end up elsewhere, but we finally decided this is the place for us and bought our first home last month. Here’s hoping you find your future home in this beautiful state. We’re in San Antonio and the traffic is terrible at the moment, but we are more than willing to deal with the inconvenience of the road work going on.
love the gemstones
Ahhh Austin!! My parents and almost my entire family grew up there and most still live there (and work for Hormel!) The maple is a great choice; I hope you enjoyed your visit!! ❤
FLORIDA LOVES you guys
Hey guys good to see you back...you know if you take two slices of original spam and put rice between it and wrap it in seaweed it's actually really good!! You need to try it.
It’s called Spam Musubi. I have two students from Hawaii who make it for luncheons at my school. It is surprisingly pretty good!
@@kathykukura279 yes we have a couple from church one is Hawaiian and the other is Philippines and when we have church functions they make it! Yummy 😋
My father worked for 42 years with Hormel!! We grew up on Spam❤️
15:15 ghost walking behind you 😮
Lol the shots of that cabin
Erics hair looks awesome!
Watching you guys in Minnesota is so cool to me. I’m from there and we would take school field trips to the Spam Museum. What a small world.
Scary house for sure 😮 Another wonderful video, I can’t wait to see those places in Texas. Of course I remember you are Texas residents. I have seen every single episodes you have, and followed you for over 3,5 years.
I miss Matt, hope he’s okay and to see him soon on the channel and on a road trip with even… maybe? ❤️
My first job had a canteen, and every Friday they served Spam Fritters. Oh, I loved it so much. yum.
I've had Nirvana earworms all week.......especially the unplugged stuff. Safe travels y'all!
I love the audible version of Story Teller especially since he narrates the book. I love Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters
I guess I would be more concerned with the property tax in Texas then the actual cost of the property. No state tax and the ability to get used to the 118° weather is something that most folks can handle but I hear the taxes are a killer.
I think I'm most concerned for Allison's reproductive rights...
Buy a parcel that is ag exempt and keep a few animals. Tax issue is taken care of.
Wow, an interesting concept. Do you know where I could possibly get more information about the AG exempt status and how many animals would be necessary to avoid taxation? Thx!
Hope you guys are having an amazing day 🙂
What a fun drive! Eric...lovin the new look! That haircut suits you. Allison, you always look pretty.😊 Good luck on the property search in TX. Y'all are awesome. Stay safe! Jane in SC ❤🙏
Oooo, now that you guys are in Tx hopefully you stop by Buc-ee's, one of my favorite places to stop by when I'm in Tx ❤ great episode, looking forward to the next adventure 🥰
Loving this road trip❤
Stay cool cats!
Comeon down to Texas!!! Whoot whoot!!
Excellent as always guys 👍 Have fun and stay safe 🇺🇸🇬🇧
After several years following you guys still my nr 1 favourite channel (shared place with SV Delos 😊) good luck on the house hunting!
Greetings from Belgium 🇧🇪
Love the cassette player
All we can say about the Arkansas house is "Here's Johnny!"😂
🤣🤣🤣
Eric: "Fried Allison? Yes please!"
Cool video folks that house /cabin had some Evil Dead vibes going down ...It didn't have a swinging bench and voice saying Join us did it lol 😯
