  • Being from East Africa and working to establish a goat farm with local east African goats can seem a challenge owing to the fact that goats from this region are small and have a very low growth rate. the introduction of exotic goat breeds like Boers, Savanas, brown Kalahari among others the trade seemed to be getting better but the challenge is that acquiring those breeds costs an arm and a leg. However, with cross breeding these problems can be mitigated and this video is here to show you how this can be done.

    Thanks alot bro, but I hv some questions for u; 1-Is it good to cross breed a boer and a mubende?
    2-How long does it take for an offspring of a boer & a pure local to mature?

    • @lakesidefarm3736
      @lakesidefarm3736  ปีที่แล้ว

      If tbe boer is pure exotic the kid will take 50% of its genes and will cut the the growth period by atleast two months, so you can expect it to be bred at about 9months

    I live in city . Can i breed goat on cement floor ?

    • @lakesidefarm3736
      @lakesidefarm3736  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have not tried it but it seems okay, although you have to maintain hygiene because a cemented flow doesn’t drain out their urine and this can cause a lot urea which will bring them issues.

    The question is,, Is it possible to rent a Boer Stud/male for say a week or just use artificial insemination for those who can't afford to buy the animal.? Can you people devise a way to sell Boer or savanna semen?

    • @lakesidefarm3736
      @lakesidefarm3736  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is already being done but it is expensive. So, it is better to get a personal buck. if you are ready to buy contact me I will find you an affordable buck.
