Chełmno is a city in northern Poland, located on the Vistula River. It has a long and fascinating history, dating back to the early Middle Ages. Here is a brief history of Chełmno:
The earliest records of Chełmno date back to the 9th century, when it was a small settlement located on a trade route that connected the Baltic Sea with the eastern lands. Over time, the settlement grew in size and importance, becoming a significant center of trade and commerce.
In the 13th century, Chełmno was granted city rights by the Teutonic Knights, a powerful military and religious order that controlled much of northern Poland at the time. The Knights built a castle in the city, which served as a base for their operations in the region.
During the next few centuries, Chełmno continued to grow and develop, becoming an important center of industry, culture, and education. In the 16th century, the city was a major center of the Protestant Reformation, and many important figures of the movement, such as Jan Łaski and Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski, were associated with Chełmno.
Over the years, Chełmno changed hands several times, as it was alternately ruled by the Teutonic Knights, the Polish crown, and the Prussian kingdom. In the 19th century, the city became a major center of industry, with factories producing textiles, ceramics, and other goods.
During World War II, Chełmno was occupied by Nazi Germany, and the city became the site of the Chełmno extermination camp, where tens of thousands of Jews and other prisoners were killed. After the war, the city was liberated by the Soviet army, and became part of the communist state of Poland.
Today, Chełmno is a thriving city with a rich cultural heritage. It is known for its historic architecture, including the Gothic cathedral of St. Mary and St. Bartholomew, the castle of the Teutonic Knights, and the city walls and gates. It is also an important center of industry and commerce, with a strong agricultural and manufacturing sector.

@@maxerpl7564✊👋Польша моя любимая страна . Сам не знаю почему , но это так . Наверно потому , что очень часто там бывал начиная с 1993 года и жил во многих городах Польши . Всегда старался учить польские слова и разговаривать на польском. Люди это понимали и всегда хорошо относились ко мне .

Widok z góry nie oddaje uroków Chełmna. Dopiero przejście jego ulicami pozwoli dotknąć autentycznego gotyku zauroczyć na zawsze.
