They obviously haven't driven a 4wd tractor in deep snow. Can you lock a differential, or drag 1 wheel brake slightly to get power to more than 2 wheels? Get those chains on. A small tractor doesn't weigh enough to get traction without chains( front and rear chains are best!).

One thing you might want to do is to mark the sides of the driveway with poles . and always use the chains when you are plowing snow.

@@MountainBeaches I don't know what your definition of expensive is but a rear blower facing backwards is cheap IMO. If you're looking for a front mount blower or rear inverted blower they are a lot more expensive. Plus, you seem to be very gentle with the tractor but a plow on the loader arms isn't the best combination. You can bend the loader arms fairly easily.

First, I’m sorry for laughing but it was comically entertaining 😅😂. Second, that puppy dog is making me want another one. We had three small dogs until about a year and a half ago and we lost our Jack boy. Then, back in September we lost our Maggie girl. And then back in early January we lost our Belle Belle girl. It’s been quiet in our house without them and we miss them so much. They were all around 16 years old so we had them a long time. Give that Jazzy girl a hug for my wife and I… she’s a cutie!

I learned a long time ago the chains go onto the tractor, even though it is four wheel drive, before the first snow flies. They make a world of difference, especially in the snow you are plowing. Also a lot easier to put on when it is dry and warmer. All in the learning process. Your are doing great.

I’ve seen lawn care and snow removal companies in Northern Ohio use them to mark curbing and drainage ditch lines because of the heavy Lake effect snow they get from Lake Erie. You put them out before snow season and collect them back up in spring. Just a thought. Great video! I just love Eagle Ridge! Y’all could not have chosen a more beautiful piece of property.

I was a large Kubota tractor owner with a 200 yard driveway in snow country. The faster I went the more snow I threw with minimal berming. Also, I am guessing that your Yanmar does not have a locking rear differential. Congrats on getting unstuck! When this happens again (and it will) try this. Place the truck in front of the tractor in the middle of the road in 4WD Low. Put a tow rope (longer than what you have) on the left rear wheel. Brake the front wheel (left or both). Pulling will rotate the tractor back on the road. If you purchase another rope you might want to condider one of the kinetic ropes (works like a bungee cord and multiplies you pulling power with a firm yank). We're in a drought now in New Mexico, but when we used to get serious snow (we're at 7,000 ft altitude) this worked great. Love your channel! Good luck!

Your problem was ignorance in the operation of your tractor !!! Most good tractors have a rear differential lock, a pedal on the floor to step on to lock both rear wheels together so they both get power, ALL the time you only had one rear wheel spinning, check your tractor and READ the owners manual to learn where the pedal is, makes all the difference in the world. Also when backing and you need a push use your front end loader curl back as far as you can lower frt loader, and as you start backing use the front curl to push back, should work even with the blade, but use your chains and even chains on the front tires, you also might want to invest in one of these new snatch tow straps that have some give and use the momentum of the truck to snatch it out, back, get some slack and gun it, and the momentum of the truck is more than the traction.

Hi norm and Kim when I have heavy fall of snow my chains are on first .I get that bit better bite although some times even the chains don't help I have a big powerful winch fitted on the front of tractorand a winch fitted on a frame that can be mounted on the back .you really need a winch as it can pull you out of most mishaps . Powder soft snow when deep is only good for one thing and that is having a pow day skiing the slopes

Snow is beautiful to look at. But... nasty for living in.
Surprised you didn't alrwady have chains on the tractor & that after your 1st trek up the driveway after your Hawaii trip, you didn't put uo snow markers.
    Lessons learned!
Last lesson >> be a snowbird next year so you don't have to deal with all the snow challenges & so you stay well & healthy. Do NOT want to see y'all with any ❤ or other cardio issues caused by your snow doings.
