Spring 2024.. just last week I bought the gp100 model# 1771.. 4.2 inch stainless steel 7 shot.. we ran 125gr .38spl and 158gr. 38spl +P along with Underwood 357mag 180gr black cherry flat nose high tek thru that wheelgun. Was accurate from the get go right out of the box! Double action was clean squeezing and single was just down right easy.. although sons and I first time shooting had us moving the barrel on the double action a Lil but with better gripping experience will lock down great grouping. The 180gr was the test for us and the Ruger.. what power!
I have a GP 100 on layaway, the stainless version with the 4" barrel. I can't wait to get it. I detest semiautomatic firearms so all of my firearms are either pump action, bolt action, lever action and revolvers.
I have recently purchased a GP100 5" Davidson Exclusive. I shot a couple hundred 38Spl through it at my first range session and it shot great. Took it home and cleaned it thoroughly. Second range outing and on my second cylinder of 357's the cylinder starting binding. I have owned revolvers since 1976 and this is the first time I have ever had a revolver malfunction that wasn't ammo caused. Sent it to Ruger and it came back with a note that said they replaced the hammer, adjusted cylinder end play and cylinder gap, and did some polishing. Carried it to the range and couldn't believe the difference. It feels like it has had a custom trigger job. D/A pull is 6 1/2 lbs and single action pull is a crisp 3 lbs and smooth as silk. @@JBJHonez It took me 3 months to get it delivered to Europe but it was well worth it. When it comes to guns, only good guns are manufactured in Europe and USA.
All of my guns are semi automatics and been wanting a revolver and I think I am pretty much sold on this. They have some at the gun shop I deal with for $799 so is that price about right because I am heading to the gun shop next week and I am going to buy this gun, this will be my first revolver. The very first gun I ever shot 40 years ago was a Smith & Wesson 357 Magnum and that friend of mine that let me shoot it got me hooked on guns and I'm glad he did.
You’d have to check around for what they’re selling for. Prices change often. Some people will pay whatever if they want it bad enough. Check GunBroker and a few other places as well. Thanks for stopping by and watching
Believe it or not I bought the Ruger GP100 357 Magnum and didn't even get through a full box of ammo and decided I didn't like it. You can't get nothing with it even at 15 ft away and I can take my 1911 Ruger 10 mm and some of my other handguns and get targets 15 yards in 20 yards away. Going to trade it back in on something else. I'll just stick with my semi automatics
Very nice revolver, congrats. I bought the match champion in 2015 and love it. Funny thing is, it came in the standard, small, grey ruger box. Looks like you got a premium upgrade or ruger changed to a better one...
Thanks. I’m diggin the 357 pistols lately. Make sure to subscribe and hit the notifications button. I’ve got another video of a smitty coming out tomorrow evening
Just like mine but minr is stainless. If i had a choice when i baught mine i woudve got the blue. But i still love mine anyway you wouldnt catch me in the ky woods without it. Ruger will shoot till the end of time and were not far from it.
I try to get multiple videos done on the weekends if he’s up to it to release throughout the week. We sometimes have time after school. His schooling takes precedence
Wow they shortened the bullet shaped chamber indicators on the cylinder. That sucks but it still looks cool. I have 2 with the longer one's and thank god I got them years ago.
@@JBJHonez Yeah that's right, the flutes. You know, the bullet shaped things along the side of the cylinder. They're supposed to be chamber indicators because they're along each chamber. They're shorter and less attractive now. I mean Ruger's always had shorter ones on their cylinders compared to Colts and Smith's but they really shortened them down now to the point where why even bother. Glad I have my older ones.
First thing to do is look down the barrel and make sure the barrel is rifled. I just bought a new GP100 and the barrel was not rifled. I don't know how long it's going to be before Ruger makes it right and sends it back to me. Very disappointing purchase.
@@JBJHonez Ruger now has my handgun and the gmail says a tech is checking it out. It should only take a couple seconds to look down the barrel and see no rifling. I am waiting for the next g mail.
@@JBJHonez lol just yanking your chain haha nice gun... I've sworn off Smith... They don't give a shit anymore... And I'm not giving them anymore money... Ruger however seems to still be on top of things and genuinely cares so I'm ordering me a gp 100 and a super Blackhawk... I'll keep my Smith 586 classic but that's it lol and if I ever have a problem I'll take it to a competent gunsmith or fix it myself
Bought the Ruger 357 Magnum and all I can say is sorry Ruger but I don't like it. Going to trade it in on something else. So I'll stick with my semi automatics, besides they're more accurate anyway

357 in a revolver is very fast becoming my favorite gun to shoot
I kind of wish mine had a 6", but so far I really like my 4"
I’d like a 4” as well. I need a Colt to finish off my collection. They’re just a bit pricey
Nice looking revolver. 👌 Nice shooting too
Thanks
Got that exact firearm excellent weapon. Revolvers are as relevant as they ever were. Have a sp101 2 1/2 in and a model 29 6 1/2 in.

Do you think this gun with the 4” barrel would make a good concealed carry revolver?
It’s possible. I think a lot depends on the size of the person and how they dress
A 40oz gun wouldn’t make a good concealed carry anything.
