It's the whole peal on occasion of a catholic holiday. For the mass of 10.30 they start with ringing the Karolus solo, after 10 or 15 min the other bells are joining. So the ringing usually lasts for half an hour.
Do-Klok and Grote Lofklok have the same striketone of Magdalena and Libertus of Sint-Romboutsotoren, as Mariaklok is remiding Sint-Jan B. Klok, the substantial difference is the date of casting!!
Karolus Casted 1507 by Willem and Jasper Moer ('s-Hertogenbosch) Diameter 212 cm Weight 6434 kg... 1507... I can't image how they were able to pull up the staggering 6434 kg (14184.54 lb) to put the bell high in the tower. Now whe have heavy cranes to pull up such weight, something they din't have in the 15th century, let that sink in.
That sound is amazing. Was this a special event put on for the cameras or is this normal routine? Also, is this a Catholic cathederal or another denmomination?
+Joshua Reardon Currently not. The clapper is broken and the bell is silent. But you can hear the Thomas/Henricus here: th-cam.com/video/SJ7BOzbRLHA/w-d-xo.html

Thanks for informing me about this. It is a very powerfull sound. If I ever come to Antwerp I will make sure that I visit the Cathederal
Good Morning Antwerp!
Ein Niederlandisch Meisterwerk!
a FLEMISH masterpiece you mean!

incredibile!
Herrliches Geläut! *****
Sehr Charaktervoll!!
Das war umgekehrt. Geert van Wou war Schüler der Familie Moer und der Familie Hoerken!

Beautiful peal, but do you have a recording of Henricus?

@@nandree1977 Thank you! Are there any plans to restore all the bells, as well as the tower to a state where all the bells can ring together?
Quand sonne Henricus?
Hey,
May I use this Video for my Channel? I will, of course, mention and link your Channel and the Video!
Greets, Bell Compilation.
